Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT Allahabad) is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow in the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department for an Anusandhan National Research Foundation project. The project, led by Dr. Dharmendra Dixit, studies AI-empowered intelligent reflecting surfaces and fluid antenna systems for intelligent 6G wireless networks. This is a hands-on communication-engineering research role that combines mathematical analysis with simulation, AI-based optimisation and hardware prototyping. If you want to work across theory, software and experimental wireless systems, the project gives you room to build experience in each of those areas.

The research scope is unusually broad for an early-career fellowship: it includes deep reinforcement learning, graph neural networks, software-defined radio and FPGA-based prototypes, along with MATLAB or Python simulation. Your work may move from algorithm design to real-time validation, so you should be comfortable learning across communication theory and implementation. Research publications and the development of expertise in AI-native 6G systems are part of the opportunity described in the notice, while any PhD registration remains subject to MNNIT Allahabad's separate academic eligibility rules.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: The fellowship is purely temporary and co-terminus with the sponsored project; it does not create a claim to a regular institute post.
• Initial tenure: Appointment begins with a one-year contract and may be extended after a yearly performance review until the project ends.
• Project rules: The engagement follows ANRF project guidelines as well as the institute's rules for project staff.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the basic conditions does not guarantee an interview. MNNIT Allahabad may shortlist applicants on merit and the project's needs, and may relax qualification or experience for an exceptional profile.
• Interview communication: Shortlisted applicants will receive the interview information by email, so your application must carry an active and correctly written email address.
• Current employment: If you already work for a private or government organisation, you must bring a No Objection Certificate from your employer to the interview.
• Travel support: The institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview. Accommodation, leave and medical benefits may be available only under the applicable project-staff rules.
