Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad (MNNIT Allahabad) needs a Junior Research Fellow or Project Associate-I for a Chemistry research project supported by the Prime Minister Early Career Research Grant of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation. The project is developing a smartphone-linked quantum-dot fluorescence sensor for quick, on-site detection of Helicobacter pylori. This is hands-on biosensor research that brings together chemistry, nanomaterials, analytical measurement and a phone-based readout, so it suits someone who wants practical laboratory experience with a clear healthcare application. The role sits in the Department of Chemistry under principal investigator Dr Soumyadipta Rakshit. Your appointment designation will depend on whether you hold a qualifying GATE, CSIR-UGC NET or GPAT credential; both designations work on the same funded project. The institute also allows a selected Junior Research Fellow to seek PhD registration, subject to meeting MNNIT Allahabad's separate admission rules.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project-linked appointment: The engagement is purely temporary and governed by the funding agency and MNNIT Allahabad Research and Consultancy Cell rules.
• Renewal: The first appointment is for one year and may be extended on satisfactory performance, but never beyond the sanctioned project period.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the basic qualification does not guarantee an interview call. The project team will shortlist applicants according to merit and the project's technical needs.
• Interview communication: Shortlisted applicants will receive the schedule by email, so your email address must remain valid and regularly checked.
• Current employment: If you already work for a private or public organization, you must produce a No Objection Certificate from that employer at the interview.
• Travel costs: MNNIT Allahabad will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.
