LEDA BEE Energy Consultant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Lakshadweep Energy Development Agency (LEDA), under the Department of Electricity, UT Administration of Lakshadweep, is engaging energy consultants for programmes supported by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. The work sits within the Ministry of Power scheme that strengthens State Designated Agencies in energy conservation and efficient energy use.

Both roles are based at LEDA's State Designated Agency office in Kavaratti. The engagement starts as a contractual assignment and can continue when performance is satisfactory, the scheme remains active, the department still needs the role and the competent authority approves an extension.

Posts and Disciplines

• Senior Energy Consultant: Lead programme planning, technical preparation, stakeholder coordination and monitoring across energy-efficiency and renewable-energy initiatives.
• Assistant Energy Consultant: Support project execution, compile technical and management information, help with procurement records and carry out field-level programme work.

Post-wise Duties

Senior Energy Consultant

As the Senior Energy Consultant, you will shape annual action plans, project proposals, feasibility studies and technical reports for LEDA. You will guide the preparation of specifications, estimates, tender and bid records, then support procurement, inspection, commissioning and performance monitoring.

You will lead work connected with PAT, CCTS, Standards and Labelling, ECBC, Eco Niwas Samhita, SECF and demand-side management. The role also coordinates with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, government departments, public-sector organisations, vendors and consultants, while guiding the Assistant Energy Consultant during implementation.

Field monitoring is an important part of the assignment. You may oversee market surveillance, check testing, inspections and compliance activity, and organise Energy Conservation Week, workshops, outreach and capacity-building programmes for institutions and stakeholders.

Assistant Energy Consultant

As the Assistant Energy Consultant, you will help prepare project reports, presentations, technical specifications, estimates, comparative statements and bid evaluation records. You will also assist with procurement, contract administration, inspections, commissioning and other implementation work.

The role includes collecting and analysing project data, energy statistics and management information reports. You will make field visits for surveys, inspections and programme checks, organise awareness or training events, and keep file notes, correspondence and meeting records ready for departmental use.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The initial term is one year from joining and does not create a claim to a regular government appointment.
• Extension: Renewal depends on your performance, continuation of the BEE scheme, departmental need and approval by the competent authority.
• Experience evidence: Only post-qualification work supported by employer records will count, and LEDA may check the claim with the employer.
• Shortlisting: Meeting the minimum conditions does not by itself guarantee that you will be called for the virtual interaction.
