Jharkhand Space Applications Center (JSAC) is recruiting project staff for its work in Ranchi under the Department of Information Technology and e-Governance. The Research Associate and Junior Project Assistant roles support different geospatial projects, covering drone-survey infrastructure and land-cover mapping. These are contractual project appointments, with continuation linked to project needs.

Posts and Disciplines

• Research Associate: This role belongs to the project for developing infrastructure for drone-based surveys in Jharkhand. The project connects the recruitment to the state's drone-survey work.
• Junior Project Assistant: This role belongs to the assessment of land-cover and land-use change project. Its mapping and analysis use a scale of 1:50,000, so it is a separate assignment from the drone infrastructure project.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: The initial engagement lasts at least one year. Any extension depends on your performance, the project's requirements and its guidelines.
• Work location: The initial posting is Ranchi. You can be posted elsewhere in Jharkhand if the work needs it.
• Reservation: Jharkhand's reservation rules apply to the state's reserved-category applicants. Applicants from reserved categories in other states are treated as general-category applicants.
• Leave: Casual leave follows the rules and guidelines of JSAC and the Jharkhand government.
• Conduct: You must follow the Center's conduct and discipline rules. Canvassing can disqualify your application, and false information or concealed facts can lead to removal even after appointment.
• Travel: JSAC will not pay travel or daily allowances for attending the test or interview. Plan your attendance on that basis.
• Recruitment changes: The Director can cancel the recruitment or change the number of posts. The competent authority's selection decision is final.
