Institute of Physics (IoP), Bhubaneswar is recruiting regular Tradesman A staff for its research campus in Odisha. Post-wise Duties

Electrical

Electrical/Electronics

You will support laboratory equipment and electronic power supplies, including soldering work on printed circuit boards. You may also help repair air conditioners, water coolers and refrigerators when the institute needs that support.

Mechanical/Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

You will handle fitting, assembly and mechanical upkeep for the IBL and other laboratories. Repairing cooling equipment forms another part of the role, covering split and window air conditioners, refrigerators and associated equipment.

Mason

You will carry out masonry and civil repairs in offices, laboratories and residences. Your work can include plastering, brick and block work, tiling and stone work.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Probation: The appointment carries a two-year probation period under the applicable rules.
• Shift work: Electrical substation duties follow a three-shift arrangement. Other trades may also need shift work according to campus requirements.
• Work setting: You may work in laboratories, service areas or residential facilities depending on your trade.
