Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing Kancheepuram (IIITDMK), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, is recruiting Junior Research Fellows for antenna-design work in its Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The assignment sits within a MeitY-funded R&D activity and is led by Dr. Sundeep Kumar. This is a hands-on engineering research role for someone who wants to move between electromagnetic simulation, hardware development and laboratory testing rather than work only on theory.

The project focuses on antenna design, metasurfaces and antenna arrays, with HFSS and CST named as the core simulation environments. Your work will connect a model on screen to a physical prototype and then to measured performance, so careful comparison between simulation and test results will matter. The institute's IT-enabled design and manufacturing setting also gives the role a practical product-development context, while the Electronics and Communication Engineering department provides the academic base.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The post begins as a one-year contractual engagement and may be extended for a further period based on the project's continuation and the institute's decision. An extension is possible, not guaranteed.
• On-campus presence: Any assessment and joining-related work requires physical presence at IIITDM Kancheepuram, Chennai. This is not advertised as a remote research assignment.
• Accommodation link: The HRA component applies when institute accommodation is not provided, so the final housing arrangement affects how that component is paid.
• Travel: The institute will not reimburse TA or DA for attending the recruitment assessment. Plan your travel and stay in Chennai accordingly.
• Original records: Educational and experience claims will be checked against originals when you attend the institute. A mismatch can affect your application.
• Government relaxation: Category-based age relaxation follows Government of India norms; keep valid category proof ready if you claim it.
