HPHC Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview
High Court of Himachal Pradesh (HPHC) is recruiting Court Managers and District Judiciary staff for courts across Himachal Pradesh. This common notice brings together administrative, clerical, stenography, driving, process-service and office-support work under the District Judiciary service rules. The engagement mix is unusual: most roles include regular appointments, while some posts also have contractual or daily-wage components.
Posts and Disciplines
- Court Manager: an administration-focused role for graduates with management training and relevant professional experience.
- Clerk: court-office work involving computers, typing, files and routine administrative support.
- Stenographer Grade III: shorthand, transcription and bilingual typing work for judicial offices.
- Driver: official light-motor-vehicle driving, with preference for candidates who understand basic automobile mechanics.
- Process Server: field and court-office work connected with delivering judicial processes and keeping service records.
- Peon, Orderly, Chowkidar and Safai roles: office support, courtroom assistance, watch duties and upkeep, depending on the post allotted.
Post-wise Duties
Court Manager
You will support court administration and process improvement, coordinate office systems and help judicial units use staff and technology effectively.
Clerk
You will handle case files, registers, computer entries and office correspondence. The role also needs accurate English or Hindi typing for everyday court work.
Stenographer Grade III
You will take dictation, prepare accurate transcripts and type court or administrative material within the prescribed accuracy standard.
Driver
You will drive official light motor vehicles, keep basic trip records and check that the assigned vehicle is safe and ready for duty.
Process Server
You will deliver summons, notices and other court processes, record service details and report unsuccessful service through the proper channel.
Office Support Roles
You will assist courtrooms and offices with file movement, access control, cleanliness or general support, according to the role assigned by the appointing authority.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Local suitability: you need knowledge of Himachal Pradesh customs and dialects. For Group C and Group D posts, the notice also applies a state-schooling condition, with an exemption for bona fide Himachalis.
- Appointment mode: regular results are declared before contractual and daily-wage results. Once selected in one mode, you cannot switch to another appointment mode.
- Anticipated openings: some advertised posts depend on vacancies arising through retirement or promotion, so the notice does not create an automatic right to appointment.
- District allocation: your preference is considered with merit and availability, but the High Court may change the allotted district or division for administrative reasons.
- Category choice: the category claimed in your online form is treated as final, and an unfilled EWS opening may be de-reserved under the state instructions cited in the notice.
- Official communication: examination and test information is sent through the mobile number and email entered in your form, so both should remain active until recruitment ends.
Application Submission Notes
The recruitment is handled through the HP High Court online recruitment portal, where each advertised role has its own Apply Here option. One application for a particular post covers its regular, contractual and daily-wage components, where offered; you should not file separate forms for each appointment mode.
After completing the form, keep a printout or screenshot of the submitted application for your record. A submitted form cannot be edited or withdrawn, although it may be cancelled without a fee refund. Government and semi-government employees must route the application properly and send the employer-issued NOC to the Registrar General within the period stated in the notice.
