HAL Director Human Resources Recruitment 2026: Overview

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a Maharatna public sector company under the Ministry of Defence, is recruiting a Director (Human Resources) through the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB). This is a fixed-tenure appointment to the company's Board, with reporting to the Chairman and Managing Director. You would join a defence aviation organisation whose work spans aircraft, helicopters, aero-engines, accessories and avionics, from design and production to maintenance and overhaul.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Appointment period: The term runs for five years from joining, up to superannuation, or until further orders, whichever comes first. Keep this limit in mind when considering the move from your current organisation.
• Immediate absorption: For officers from the Central Government, Armed Forces, All India Services, public sector banks, financial institutions and autonomous bodies, consideration is only on an immediate absorption basis. You should assess this condition before committing to the appointment.
• Joining commitment: Your application must include an undertaking that you will join if selected. PESB will reject an application that does not include this commitment.
• Withdrawal after interview: If you state that you will not join after the interview, a two-year bar on consideration for Board-level posts in Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) applies from the interview date. For an applicant already in a CPSE, the bar excludes their own CPSE.
• Withdrawal after an offer: If you decline after the appointment offer is issued, the two-year bar runs from the offer date. The same exception for an existing CPSE employee's own organisation applies. The notice rules out requests to relax these withdrawal conditions.
• Employer clearance: Your forwarding authority must ensure that you are clear from the vigilance angle. This applies to the relevant government and public sector routes, including the specified routes for state enterprises, joint ventures and federations.
• Online receipt: PESB rejects incomplete applications and applications that do not reach it online within the prescribed time. A physical copy or an email submission cannot replace the online application and forwarding process.

Application Submission Notes

Employer forwarding depends on your current organisation: Central Government officers use their cadre-controlling authority, while bank, financial institution and autonomous-body officers use their administrative ministry or department. CPSE Board members go through the administrative ministry, and below-Board employees go through their CPSE.

Other forwarding routes: State enterprise Board members use the state's administrative secretary and cadre-controlling authority where applicable, while below-Board employees use the enterprise itself. Joint venture and federation applicants use their nodal officer or competent authority, and private-company applicants apply directly to PESB.

Nodal officer registration: The PESB website provides the registration link for nodal officers and competent authorities. Your employer's forwarding requirement is separate from your own application submission.
