ESIC Ayurveda Medical Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, is engaging a retired Medical Officer in Ayurveda for ESIC Hospital, Rudrapur. The assignment is full-time and contractual, with the doctor working under the direct control of the hospital's Medical Superintendent. This opportunity is specifically for doctors retired from Central or State Government service under the Old Pension Scheme, so it is not an entry-level AYUSH recruitment. The hospital is using a walk-in format to place an experienced practitioner into patient-care work without a long recruitment cycle.

The selected doctor will be deployed at ESIC Hospital, Rudrapur, not across the wider ESIC network. The engagement is meant to support the hospital's Ayurveda service while a regular arrangement is pending. It does not create a claim to regular employment, seniority, promotion, pension or other continuing service benefits.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The initial engagement is for one year and may end earlier when a regular appointee joins. Any continuation remains subject to ESIC rules and the hospital's requirement.
• Exclusive full-time work: You cannot accept another assignment or undertake private practice during the contract.
• Attendance: You must mark attendance manually and through the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System on scheduled working days.
• Leave: The contract allows 1.5 days of leave for each completed month. Leave cannot be carried beyond a calendar year, and unauthorised overstay may lead to termination.
• Ending the engagement: Either side may discontinue the contract by giving seven days' notice. Gross misconduct or negligence can lead to termination without notice.
• Fitness and records: Appointment remains subject to medical fitness and detailed checking of eligibility and service records.
• No private-service benefits: The engagement does not provide PF, gratuity, seniority, promotion or separate medical benefits.
• Travel costs: ESIC will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview or joining the post.
