Post-wise Duties

Associate Professor

You will take a senior role in teaching, clinical supervision and departmental academic work. The position involves guiding junior faculty and students, supporting assessments, overseeing patient-care standards in your speciality and contributing to research or publication work expected of faculty.

Assistant Professor

You will handle regular teaching and clinical assignments in the department selected in your application. Your work can include lectures, demonstrations, student mentoring, clinical services, practical assessments and keeping the academic and patient records connected with your unit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Fixed-term appointment: the initial contract is for one year and may continue year by year for up to a further two years, subject to satisfactory work and the absence of a regular incumbent.
• No regularisation claim: the appointment remains purely contractual, even when an extension is granted.
• Private practice: faculty members cannot undertake private practice during their ESIC tenure.
• Benefits: contractual faculty cannot claim regular-service benefits such as pension, provident fund, gratuity, seniority or promotion under this engagement.
• Security deposit: selected faculty must provide the refundable deposit specified for their post when joining. Leaving within the initial six months can lead to its appropriation under the notice conditions.
• Joining: selected candidates are expected to join promptly after receiving the offer, and the notice sets a short outer limit for reporting.
• Interview travel: ESIC will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in.
