About This Job

DDMCH ICU Assistant Surgeon Recruitment 2026: Overview

Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital, Kendujhar (DDMCH Kendujhar) is engaging Assistant Surgeons for the Trauma Care Facility Centre's intensive care unit. The posts are funded under District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Kendujhar and place doctors in a hospital setting where rapid assessment, critical-care support and coordinated trauma management are central to the role. Doctors with prior hands-on exposure to critical care in a hospital with ICU facilities receive preference.

The assignment is a full-time contractual engagement at the DDMCH campus in Kendujhar. You will work with ICU nurses, specialists and other hospital teams while managing patients who need close monitoring and timely escalation. The notice also gives priority to applicants who have already served on a contractual or temporary basis in the government health sector.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Tenure: The appointment lasts one year from joining and is not renewable under this notice.
  • Medical registration: Your MBBS or equivalent qualification must be recognised by MCI/NMC, and you must hold permanent registration with the relevant Central or State Medical Council.
  • Internship: Completion of the compulsory rotating internship is necessary before the interview qualification cut-off.
  • Existing service: A doctor currently working as an SR or Tutor in an Odisha government medical college cannot take this engagement. Anyone whose state government service was terminated will not be considered for re-engagement.
  • Duty conduct: Doctors must follow the duty schedule strictly, and private practice is prohibited during duty hours.
  • Leaving the post: A doctor who resigns from the contract must serve one month's notice.
  • Accommodation: Campus accommodation depends on availability and should not be treated as assured.
  • Accuracy and jurisdiction: False or concealed information may cancel candidature or end the appointment. Legal matters fall under Kendujhar jurisdiction.
  • Official updates: DDMCH may shortlist the merit panel according to available positions. Appointment and related updates will be placed on the Kendujhar District and DDMCH websites rather than sent individually.
