Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) is hiring 29 Guest Faculty across 12 departments, including Chemistry, Hindi, English Studies and Mathematics. Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) was established by an Act of Parliament in 2009 and is located at Neelakudi Campus, Thiruvarur. The university has released Advertisement No. CUTN/GF/01/2026 for engaging 29 Guest Faculty across 12 departments. This is a temporary, honorarium-based teaching engagement and does not carry the pay scale or benefits of a regular faculty post. Even superannuated (retired) teachers can apply, up to a maximum age of 70 years — making this a good option for experienced academics as well as fresh Ph.D holders and NET-qualified candidates looking to gain teaching experience at a central university.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade on a point-scale) in the relevant subject from a recognised Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Additional requirement: You must have cleared UGC-NET or CSIR-NET, or a similar UGC-accredited test.
• NET exemption: If you hold a Ph.D awarded as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016 (and later amendments), you do not need to clear NET.
• Your qualification must be at par with the minimum qualification prescribed for Assistant Professors under UGC Regulations, 2018.
• Make sure your postgraduate degree matches the department you are applying to — for example, a Master's in Chemistry for the Chemistry post.

Age Limit

• There is no minimum age mentioned, but you should not be older than 70 years to apply.
• Superannuated (retired) teachers can also apply for Guest Faculty engagement, subject to this age limit.

Salary

• You will be paid an honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, subject to a maximum of Rs. 50,000 per month.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)
