CUH SRF Biotechnology Recruitment 2026: Overview

Central University of Haryana (CUH) is engaging a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Biotechnology for a DST-Haryana/HSCSIT-supported mustard research project. The work centres on developing climate-resilient mustard through multiplex genome editing of genes linked with abiotic stress. This is a hands-on plant biotechnology role, suited to a researcher who is comfortable moving between molecular experiments, tissue culture work and careful recording of results.

The project gives you exposure to CRISPR/Cas-based plant genome editing, molecular cloning and the characterization of edited plant material. Experience with Brassica, mustard or another crop-transformation system is especially useful because the research is designed around practical crop improvement, not only desk-based analysis. Your work will support a defined sponsored project led by the principal investigator at the Mahendragarh campus.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the sponsored project. It can end earlier if the project itself closes.
• Funding condition: Continuation depends on the release and availability of the sanctioned third-year project funds.
• Research standards: CUH may end the fellowship for misconduct, unsatisfactory research progress or a later finding that the selected person did not meet the stated conditions.
• Applicable rules: The fellow will be governed by the relevant rules of CUH and DST-Haryana/HSCSIT.
• Interview costs: CUH will not pay TA, DA or another allowance for attending the walk-in interview.
• Selection discretion: Meeting the minimum academic and research requirements does not by itself guarantee selection.

The role remains a research fellowship rather than a regular university appointment. You should consider the fixed project horizon and funding link before attending. The experience is best suited to someone who wants focused laboratory exposure in crop molecular biology and can contribute productively from the start.
