CSIR Innovation Complex, Mumbai (C-ICM) — set up to build world-class translational research and incubation facilities for start-ups, MSMEs, and academic institutions — has released Advertisement No. ICM/03/2026 for 5 project positions in Analytical Chemistry, Bioanalysis, and ADME-PK/Tox research areas. The project activities are based in Mumbai and the total project duration is 3 years. The engagement is purely temporary and project-based, starting with an initial one-year term extendable in line with the project, and it does not carry any claim to a regular CSIR appointment. Candidates found suitable but not immediately selected will be empanelled for future project requirements. The number of positions against each post is provisional and may increase or decrease at the time of selection.

Who Can Apply?

Project Scientist-III (PS-III-AC) — Stipend Rs. 78,000/month:

  • You need a Doctoral Degree in Science, or a Master's/Integrated Master's in Engineering or Technology from a recognised University, plus 7 years of R&D experience in academic, industrial, or scientific institutions.
  • Specialisation needed: Analytical Chemistry / Pharmaceutical Analysis / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Life Sciences.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience with LC-MS/MS, GCMS/MS, HPLC, ICPMS, and NMR instruments, along with knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines.

Other Project Scientist & Senior Project Associate Posts:

  • You need a Master's/Integrated Master's in Engineering or Technology with around 2 years of relevant R&D experience, OR a Doctoral Degree in Science/Pharma/MD/MS with 2 years of experience.
  • Specialisation areas: Analytical Chemistry / Organic Chemistry / Pharmacology / Pharmaceutical Sciences / Life Sciences / Biotechnology.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience in spectroscopic and chromatographic method development, especially in the ADME-PK area.

Certificates in a language other than Hindi or English must be submitted with an attested English translation. All applicants must fulfil the essential qualifications as on the date of the interview — no queries about eligibility will be entertained beforehand, so check your eligibility carefully before you turn up.

Age Limit

  • The upper age limit for Project Scientist-III is 45 years, counted as on the date of the walk-in interview.
  • Age Relaxation: SC/ST, Divyangjan (PwD), and female candidates get up to 5 years relaxation. OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get up to 3 years relaxation.

Salary

  • Project Scientist-III (PS-III-AC) gets a stipend of Rs. 78,000 per month plus HRA, with a 5% increment every 2 years of experience on the same project.
  • Stipends for the other Project Scientist and Senior Project Associate posts vary by position and experience level, as per CSIR project staff norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview:

  1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 1 September 2026 at 9:30 AM at CSIR Innovation Complex, Mumbai.
  2. Document Verification: You must bring original certificates and testimonials for verification at the time of the interview.
  3. Empanelment: Suitable candidates who are not immediately selected may be empanelled for future project requirements.

No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and canvassing in any form will disqualify your candidature. If selected, your engagement will be governed by CSIR's guidelines for project staff under the Contract Research and Plan Projects/NMITLI Scheme, and it can be ended by either side with one month's notice or one month's stipend in lieu.

  • Conduct analytical chemistry and bioanalysis experiments for assigned research projects

  • Support method development and validation for ADME-PK/Tox studies
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, data, and observations
  • Prepare technical reports and research documentation for project milestones
  • Coordinate with senior scientists and research teams on project deliverables
  • Follow lab safety protocols and regulatory guidelines relevant to the research work
  • Travel for project-related work as required
