CSIR-IIIM JRF Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu, is hiring a Junior Research Fellow for DBT-funded project GAP-3193. The research examines chemical modulation of autophagy signalling to identify new host-directed approaches against drug-resistant tuberculosis. This is a laboratory research role tied to a sponsored project, making it suitable for a life-science postgraduate who has cleared an accepted national-level test and wants hands-on research experience.

The institute works under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research within the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology. The assignment is based at CSIR-IIIM Jammu, where the fellow joins a focused study connecting cell-signalling research with the search for better ways to tackle drug-resistant tuberculosis.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Project tenure: the first engagement is for one year or the remaining project period, whichever is earlier. It may be extended or shortened according to project needs and your work and conduct.
  • Project end: the present project period runs up to 11 December 2028, but the engagement remains linked to the project and does not create a right to a permanent CSIR-IIIM or CSIR post.
  • Overall limit: combined project engagement across all CSIR laboratories cannot exceed six years.
  • Performance review: CSIR-IIIM will review your work periodically, and unsatisfactory performance can end the engagement without advance notice.
  • Accommodation: HRA is payable only when institutional accommodation is neither used nor provided.
  • Screening: if the institute receives a large response, the screening committee may revise its screening criteria before calling candidates.
  • Current project staff: anyone already working on a CSIR-IIIM project must obtain a No Objection Certificate before applying for this opening.
  • Interview travel: the institute will not pay TA or DA for attending the interview.
  • Canvassing: attempts to influence the process will disqualify your candidature.
