APSP Multi-Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

The 8th Indian Reserve Battalion, Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP), Chittoor is recruiting Record Assistant and battalion support staff through the Andhra Pradesh Corporation for Outsourced Services framework. The drive serves the battalion at Chittoor and covers office work, sanitation, cooking, laundry and grooming support. These are outsourced engagements rather than appointments to the regular police service, an important distinction when you consider the conditions attached to the roles.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Record Assistant: office-based work involving records, data, correspondence, retrieval and administrative support.
  • Office Subordinate: filing, scanning, meeting support, data entry and help with basic accounts and office records.
  • Sweeper and Scavenger: separate sanitation roles covering cleaning, waste handling, washrooms, drains and hygiene across battalion premises.
  • Cook: meal preparation, ration and menu planning, kitchen hygiene, food-safety practices and care of field or garrison kitchen equipment.
  • Dhobi: washing, drying and ironing uniforms and other clothing, including safe use of laundry equipment.
  • Barber: hair cutting and shaving for battalion personnel, daily service records, tool custody and salon hygiene.

Post-wise Duties

Record Assistant and Office Subordinate

You will keep physical and digital records organised, support correspondence and help staff retrieve information. The Record Assistant has greater responsibility for record control and data handling, while the Office Subordinate supports filing, schedules and routine office work.

Sweeper and Scavenger

You will keep battalion premises clean and sanitary. Sweeper work focuses on general cleaning and supplies, while the Scavenger role includes segregation and safe disposal of waste and cleaning toilets, drains and urinals.

Cook

You will prepare and serve daily battalion meals, plan menus, account for rations and keep the kitchen safe. You may work with both routine cafeteria meals and more formal menus, and you must care for kitchen equipment.

Dhobi and Barber

You will provide essential personal-support services for battalion staff. Dhobis manage garment washing and pressing, while Barbers keep service records, protect sharp tools and maintain a hygienic salon.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Outsourcing status: selection does not make you a member of the regular government service or give you preference for another appointment.
  • Termination: the engagement may be ended for administrative reasons under the applicable outsourcing conditions.
  • Headquarters and emergency duty: staff must stay at the bona fide headquarters and be available on call during emergencies.
  • Movement with the battalion: Cooks and Barbers may be moved to different parts of Andhra Pradesh when battalion companies move.
  • Private work: you cannot carry on private practice during the engagement.
  • Dress and discipline: the Commandant sets the dress code, and battalion discipline applies during service.
  • Local status: study records from the former Chittoor district are used to decide local-candidate status; without them, you are treated as non-local.
  • Benefits: outsourced staff receive leave under applicable government orders, while eligible women employees receive the notified maternity-leave benefit. EPF and ESI apply where admissible.

Application Submission Notes

Use the prescribed application form and send or deliver it to The Commandant, 8th (IR) Battalion, APSP, C/o District Police Training Centre, Iruvaram Village and Post, Chittoor District 517128. The form must reach the office within the notified window; the dispatch date alone does not protect a late postal application.

Your Aadhaar number and a working mobile number or email address are mandatory. Attach properly attested supporting copies because a missing study, category or qualification record can change how your application is treated or lead to rejection.

Responsibilities

  • Manage records, files and routine data for the assigned office role
  • Clean battalion rooms, washrooms and common areas safely
  • Collect, separate and dispose of waste at designated locations
  • Prepare meals and keep kitchen tools, stores and surfaces hygienic
  • Wash, dry and iron uniforms using laundry equipment safely
  • Provide hair-cutting and shaving services with clean tools
  • Follow battalion discipline, dress rules and emergency-duty instructions
