A&N Physical Education Teacher Recruitment 2026: Overview

Directorate of Education, Andaman and Nicobar Administration is recruiting Physical Education Teachers for regular Group B, non-gazetted and non-ministerial service in government education. The role is meant for trained physical-education graduates who can build safe, inclusive sports and fitness programmes for school students across the islands. This is a merit-led recruitment, so the accuracy of every academic and experience record you submit matters directly.

The notice follows the Administration's notified recruitment rules and gives weight to your school, senior-secondary, graduation and professional-training record. It also recognises relevant teaching experience and higher study in physical education, while keeping the core appointment focused on school-level physical education.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Regular service: the appointment is part of the Directorate's regular teaching establishment and carries Group B non-gazetted, non-ministerial status.
• Reservation lists: scheduled-tribe reservation applies only to communities recognised for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, while the Administration's own recognised list governs other-backward-class claims.
• Tentative requirement: the Administration may increase or reduce the requirement when it prepares the appointment panel.
• One final form: corrections are not allowed after online submission, and only one application should be physically verified. If more than one is presented, the first verified form is treated as the valid one.
• Experience claims: only post-qualification work as a Physical Education Teacher or Instructor in a government or recognised institution earns experience weight. Honorary or voluntary service does not count.
• Certificate format: relevant experience must use the prescribed format, carry the required countersignature and be supported by the appointment order. The Directorate may ask for a salary bank statement to check the claim.
• Serving staff: government employees must follow the proper channel and provide a fresh no-objection certificate. Education Department staff may apply directly after informing the Director, but still need the certificate at final checking.
• Document consistency: only records uploaded with the online form and matched against originals at the centre will be considered for merit.

Application Submission Notes

Complete the form on the Education Department recruitment portal and upload all academic, professional and supporting records in the formats requested there. Mark sheets for a qualification should be merged into one PDF when there is more than one, and a name change needs the supporting affidavit or Gazette record.

Online submission is only the first part. You must personally take the printed form and self-attested copies to the receiving-cum-verification centre chosen in your application, along with the originals. Post, courier, email, proxy submission and late verification are not accepted.

Arrange the papers in the same order as the uploaded records, tag rather than staple them, paginate the set and place a self-attested recent photograph on the form. Ask the receiving officer for a dated and sealed acknowledgement after your papers and originals have been checked.
