The Office of the Collector (Women and Child Development), District Raigarh in Chhattisgarh is filling staff posts at the "Sakhi" One Stop Centres in Gharghoda and Raigarh. These centres run under the Sambal sub-scheme of Mission Shakti, the Government of India's umbrella scheme for the safety, protection and empowerment of women. Most posts are for the Gharghoda centre, while Raigarh needs one multi-purpose staff member. Only women can apply, and selection happens through a walk-in interview at the District Programme Officer's office in Raigarh.

Posts and Disciplines

• Local residents preferred: Case Workers should be from the local community, and the Centre Administrator should preferably be local too.
• Para legal role: this post is filled only when the District Legal Services Authority does not provide a legal advisor to the centre.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: You must be a native resident of Chhattisgarh, backed by a residence certificate from a competent officer.
• Women only: The scheme engages only women as service providers at the Sakhi centres.
• Tenure: The first engagement is for up to two years on a fixed honorarium. The Collector can then extend it one year at a time based on your work and conduct.
• Temporary nature: The job is fully temporary. Either side can end it with one month's notice or one month's pay, and the posts end when the central scheme ends.
• Police verification: Because the work is sensitive, you must get a police background check before joining and show a no-criminal-record certificate.
• Medical fitness: You must submit a fitness certificate within one month of selection; failing the health check ends the engagement.
• Confidentiality: You will sign an affidavit to keep survivors' data and case details confidential; a breach can end your service.
• Marriage conditions: Candidates who married before the legal minimum age, or who married a person with a living spouse, are not eligible. Selected candidates give an affidavit on Rs. 50 stamp paper.
• Conduct rules and leave: You will follow the Chhattisgarh Civil Services Conduct Rules, 1965, and you are entitled to maternity leave.
• No extra benefits: Only the fixed honorarium is paid; there is no other allowance or ex-gratia, and no travel allowance for attending the interview.
• Local language: You must know the local language or dialect; the interview panel checks this.
• Former OSC staff: Surplus Sakhi centre staff whose services were ended get priority if they apply.

Application Submission Notes

Bring your filled application in the prescribed format to the office of the District Programme Officer, Women and Child Development, Raigarh on the walk-in day, and register between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Forms are not accepted before the walk-in date. Carry originals of all documents for verification, a self-addressed envelope with a Rs. 10 postage stamp, and an NOC if you work in a government or semi-government office.
