WB Police Krishnanagar Driver Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Superintendent of Police, Krishnanagar Police District under West Bengal Police is hiring contractual drivers for its Motor Transport (MT) Section. The posts were sanctioned by a Government Order of the Home and Hill Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal, issued on 30 September 2026, followed by an organisation order from the West Bengal Police Directorate.

This is a purely temporary, contract-based engagement, not a regular police post. If you already live in the Krishnanagar Police District area, you get preference, and you must be able to read and write Bengali. Experienced drivers who hold an LMV or HMV licence and have worked with a government, quasi-government or registered private company are the right fit.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract tenure: The contract is valid for one year from the day you join. Renewal depends on satisfactory performance.
• No regularisation: The engagement will never be treated as part of the regular government establishment, and your contract will say so clearly.
• Pay deductions: The pay is a consolidated monthly amount, and statutory deductions apply as per government norms.
• Domicile: You must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Police clearance: If you are provisionally selected, you must submit a Police Clearance Certificate from the West Bengal Police PCC portal when you join.
• Medical fitness: Provisionally selected candidates go through a medical fitness test before engagement.
• No travel allowance: You will not get any TA/DA for attending the driving test and interview.
• Canvassing: Any canvassing or outside influence leads to disqualification.
• Right to cancel: The authority can cancel the recruitment at any stage without giving a reason.

You can collect the application form (Annexure-I) from the MT Section at Krishnanagar Police Line, or download it from the district police website krishnanagarpolice.wb.gov.in. Print it on white A4 paper and fill it in capital letters.

• Hand delivery only: Drop your application yourself into the Drop Box of the MT Section, Krishnanagar Police Line during office hours. Applications sent by post are not accepted.
• Envelope: Write "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONTRACTUAL DRIVER UNDER KRISHNANAGAR POLICE DISTRICT, 2026" on the envelope.
• Photo: Paste one self-attested passport-size photo (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) at the top right of the form.
• Cut-off time: The drop box closes at 5 PM on the last day.
• Originals: Carry all original documents to the interview; incomplete applications can be rejected.
