VNIT Nagpur Project Associate I Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur (VNIT Nagpur) has released a notice for 1 Project Associate I post under the project Sensor Antenna Transmitter System for Material Properties Retrieval in Wireless Sensor Node. The work is in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and the appointment is project-based. GATE, CSIR-UGC NET or M.Tech. ECE candidates get preference, and the selected person may also get a chance to register for a regular PhD at VNIT Nagpur if institute rules are met.

The project is focused on an antenna-based wireless sensor system that can read material properties such as permittivity and permeability. Essential Qualification

• Engineering route: You need a B.Tech. degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Applied Electronics, Instrumentation or an equivalent related engineering stream.
• Master's degree route: You can also apply with a Master's degree in RF and Antennas, Physics, Electronics or Communication Systems.
• Project fit: Your academic background should match RF systems, antennas, electronics, communication systems, instrumentation or related research areas.

Preferred Qualification

• GATE / CSIR-UGC NET: Qualified candidates will be given preference.
• M.Tech. in ECE: M.Tech. Electronics and Communication Engineering candidates will also get preference.
• PhD opportunity: The selected candidate may apply for VNIT Nagpur's regular PhD programme if they meet the institute's admission rules.

Salary

• With GATE/NET: Rs. 37,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the first two years.
• With GATE/NET in third year: Rs. 42,000 per month plus 20% HRA.
• Without GATE/NET: Rs. 30,000 per month plus 20% HRA for the first two years.
• Without GATE/NET in third year: Rs. 33,000 per month plus 20% HRA.
• Appointment type: The post is purely temporary and project-based, initially for six months, extendable up to three years based on performance and project need.

Selection Process

VNIT will shortlist candidates first and then call selected applicants by email. The final process may include a written test and/or interview on the date communicated by the institute.

2. Written Test: A written test may be conducted if the institute decides it is needed.
3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will attend the interview as informed by email. Outstation candidates may be allowed to attend online, while candidates from Nagpur may have to attend in person.

No TA/DA will be paid for the selection process. The Director, VNIT Nagpur will make the final decision on selection.
