Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur - Project Associate Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

VNIT Nagpur is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology (NITs) functioning under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Institute has invited applications for the post of Project Associate to work on a research project titled "Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Assisted Integrated Sensing and Communication for 6G Networks", funded by the Telecom Technology Development Fund (TTDF) — a government scheme that supports indigenous research and development in telecom technology. The project is based in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and focuses on next-generation 6G wireless communication systems. Selected candidates may also be considered for admission to the regular Ph.D. programme at VNIT Nagpur, subject to meeting the Institute's eligibility criteria — a strong option if you want to combine hands-on research work with a doctoral degree from a reputed NIT.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: A 4-year B.Tech/Bachelor's Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), or an equivalent/related discipline from a recognized University/Institute.
• Marks Required: First Class or a minimum CGPA of 6.5/10 (or equivalent).
• Candidates from related engineering disciplines with an interest in wireless communication, signal processing, or 6G research are encouraged to apply, since the project involves both hardware and software work.

Salary

• Selected candidates will get consolidated monthly emoluments of Rs. 30,000.
• The appointment is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project — initially for one year, extendable based on your performance or till the project is completed.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is entirely through a walk-in interview — there is no written test.

1. Shortlisting: The Institute reserves the right to shortlist candidates if required.
2. Interview: Conducted by the Interview Panel of VNIT Nagpur on the same day, whose decision is final in all matters related to the recruitment.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview, and the appointment does not confer any claim for regular employment at VNIT Nagpur.
