UPSSSC has released Advertisement No. 16-Pariksha/2026 for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026, the screening exam that decides who can apply for hundreds of Group C posts across Uttar Pradesh government departments over the next few years. Your PET score stays valid for future UPSSSC recruitments announced during the validity period of the merit list, so you only need to clear this exam once to become eligible for multiple posts. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need to have passed Class 10 (High School) from a recognized board.
• Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 40 years old as on 1 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen) get age relaxation as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

• General / OBC: Rs. 185
• SC / ST: Rs. 95
• PwD (Divyang): Rs. 25

Selection Process

PET itself works as the eligibility-deciding stage:

1. PET Online Exam: 100 objective-type questions for 100 marks in 2 hours.
2. Merit / PET Score: Your normalized PET score decides which future UPSSSC Group C posts you can apply for.
3. Post-wise Recruitment: Each Group C post advertised later by UPSSSC will have its own document verification and, where applicable, an additional skill test or interview.

How to Apply

1. Go to the UPSSSC portal at upsssc.gov.in.
2. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) if you have not already.
3. Log in to your OTR profile and select the PET 2026 application link.
4. Fill in the online application form and upload your documents and photo.
5. Pay the application fee online.
6. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
