Union Public Service Commission invites online applications for Civil Services Examination 2026 for IAS, IPS, IFS and other Central Group A & B Services. 933 vacancies. Prelims on May 24, 2026. Graduates aged 21-32 can apply online till February 24, 2026. Application fee Rs. 100 (exempted for SC/ST/Female/PwBD). Starting salary Rs. 56,100 per month.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification for the Civil Services Examination 2026. This is one of the most prestigious examinations in India, conducted annually to recruit officers for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other Central Group A and Group B Services.

About UPSC Civil Services Examination

The Civil Services Examination is conducted in three stages - Preliminary Examination (objective type), Main Examination (written descriptive type), and Personality Test (Interview). Successful candidates are appointed to various services based on their rank and preferences.

Educational Qualification

Preliminary Examination (Qualifying): 400 marks total
Main Examination: 1,750 marks total (9 papers)
Personality Test (Interview): 275 marks

Total merit: Main Examination (1,750) + Interview (275) = 2,025 marks
