UCO Bank IT Advisor Recruitment 2026 - Contractual Engagement

UCO Bank, a Government of India undertaking and one of the leading public sector banks headquartered in Kolkata, is looking for a seasoned IT professional to join as Information Technology Advisor (IT Advisor) on a contractual basis. This is a high-level advisory role where you will work directly with the Bank's Board of Directors and IT Strategy Committee, making it an excellent opportunity for experienced technology leaders.

• Contract period of 1 year, extendable by another year based on performance review — giving you a total engagement window of up to 2 years
• Posting at Head Office, Kolkata or as per Bank's requirement, with a minimum commitment of 5 working days per month
• Remuneration is negotiable and will be based on your qualifications, suitability, and market benchmarks — the Bank has stated that pay shall not be a limiting factor for the right candidate
• You will attend all Board meetings and IT Strategy/Screening Committee meetings in person, with the option for online attendance in urgent situations

Selection Process

The Bank will first shortlist candidates based on eligibility, experience, and qualifications. If you make the cut, you will be called for a Personal Interview. Keep in mind that simply meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee a call for the interview — the Bank will pick only the most suitable applicants. The qualifying marks for the interview will be decided by UCO Bank.

• Advise on identification and implementation of new technologies and technology products for the Bank
• Develop enterprise technology standards, governance processes, and performance metrics to ensure IT delivers value
• Consult on core IT infrastructure, network, business applications, and related IT operations
• Support business departments and meet their technology needs in a time-bound manner
• Provide industry expertise for the Bank's IT initiatives and evaluate cost efficiency of emerging technologies
• Optimize and manage existing IT network for high efficiency with sufficient resilience while managing costs
• Develop long-term technology plans anticipating future trends to sustain and support banking operations
• Ensure business continuity with appropriate disaster recovery plans that are regularly tested
• Ensure all IT assets achieve full lifecycle value and maintain relationships with technology partners
• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and regulatory prescriptions
• Build quality assurance, data protection processes, and robust technology management systems
• Identify security threats and formulate strategies and solutions to mitigate them
• Monitor KPIs and IT budgets to assess technological performance
• Design systems and interfaces for internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate on vendor onboarding and management to enhance the Bank's products and services
• Attend all meetings of Board of Directors and IT Strategy/Screening Committee of the Board
