TNPSC Technical Services Recruitment 2026: Overview
Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) is running the Combined Technical Services Examination for interview posts across state departments, statutory boards and government companies. This drive brings specialist work in veterinary care, planning, finance, engineering, statistics, libraries, reporting and administration under one notification. You apply against the post that matches your subject and professional background, and the role may sit either in a government department or in a named state-sector organisation. Several senior posts need substantial experience, while other entries are open on the strength of the prescribed degree or professional examination.
Posts and Disciplines
- Maritime and cement operations: Port Officer, Unit Head, Instrumentation Manager and Safety Manager roles cover shipping oversight, plant leadership, controls and industrial safety.
- Corporate finance and governance: Finance managers, accounts officers, senior finance officers, a company secretary and project-investment managers support state corporations.
- Veterinary services and research: Veterinary Assistant Surgeons and Research Assistants work with the Animal Husbandry system and the veterinary preventive-medicine institute.
- Planning, industry and infrastructure: Town planning, technical industries, project management and infrastructure posts connect engineering knowledge with public projects.

Post-wise Duties
Engineering and Operations Posts
You will oversee technical operations, plant systems, safety controls or maritime functions according to the organisation named for your post. Senior managers also coordinate teams, contracts and operational decisions.
Finance and Corporate Posts
You will handle accounts, audits, financial planning, corporate compliance or investment review. Project managers examine business plans, procurement activity and infrastructure proposals for state enterprises.
Veterinary and Research Posts
You will support animal health services, clinical work or veterinary research. Research assignments focus on laboratory and preventive-medicine work, while field officers serve the Animal Husbandry network.
Planning and Development Posts
You will assess town plans, industrial proposals, statistics, library services or textile programmes and turn specialist findings into practical advice for the department. Some roles combine technical review with supervision of public projects.
Reporting and Public-Service Posts
You will create accurate legislative records, manage institutional administration or provide psychology support in correctional services, depending on the post chosen.
Digital Systems Post
The System Analyst will develop and support administrative software and information systems, working with users to keep departmental technology reliable.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Tamil knowledge: Adequate knowledge of Tamil is required under the notification's service rules; the permitted proof or later language-test condition depends on the post.
- Reservation: Communal and horizontal reservation rules apply, while single-cadre posts and some special categories carry specific exceptions.
- Post restrictions: Some roles are not identified as suitable for benchmark-disability reservation, so check the post-wise list before choosing an option.
- Regional Sthapathi: Only applicants professing Hindu religion can be considered for this HR&CE Department post.
- Vacancy status: The Commission may revise the distribution or add similarly qualified posts before results are issued.
Application Submission Notes
A valid TNPSC One Time Registration profile is needed before the examination application, and Aadhaar linking is mandatory for access to the profile. Choose only the subject paper connected to the qualification you actually hold; the Commission uses that choice to map you to the appropriate post.
The portal provides an application correction window after the submission period, but changes are not accepted once that window closes. Review your post, subject-paper claims, reservation details and uploaded proof carefully, because admission remains provisional until TNPSC checks the records.
