Tata Memorial Centre (TMC), Mumbai, a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. VAR/ACA/30/2026 dated 30 July 2026 for a walk-in interview to fill 1 post of Senior Resident / Medical Officer in Pediatric Oncology at Varanasi. This is a fixed tenure position for one year, which may be extended further based on performance and requirement. Preference is given to Senior Resident selection — the Medical Officer post is offered only if a suitable Senior Resident candidate is not found. Doctors with prior experience in Oncology are preferred, and the position will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so it pays to apply early. Who Can Apply?

For Senior Resident (Salary Rs. 1,33,623/month):

• You need an M.D. / D.N.B. in Pediatrics or an equivalent postgraduate degree recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC).

For Medical Officer (Salary Rs. 1,11,132/month):

• You need an M.B.B.S. degree recognized by the NMC.

• Preferred: Candidates with prior experience in Oncology will have an advantage during the interview.
• Both fresh postgraduates and experienced doctors can apply — TMC evaluates candidates on qualification, publications and interview performance rather than years of service alone.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit is 45 years, counted as on the date of the Walk-in Interview.
• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, and 10 years for Persons with Disabilities.

Salary

• Senior Resident will get a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 1,33,623.
• Medical Officer will get a consolidated monthly salary of Rs. 1,11,132.
• Both figures are consolidated pay — the notification does not mention any separate DA, HRA or other allowances for this walk-in engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

TMC does not conduct a written test for this role. Selection is based entirely on a walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held in person at the venue in Varanasi, where a panel reviews your qualifications, publications and clinical experience. Outstation candidates may attend online via video call.
2. Document Verification: Your original certificates are checked at the time of interview before you are confirmed for the post.

Selection is on a first-come, first-served basis, so candidates who attend earlier in the interview window have a practical edge over those who wait until the last day. There is no separate written exam or skill test — your qualifications, publications and how you perform in the interview decide the outcome.
