South East Central Railway (SECR), through its Personnel Department at the DRM Office Raipur, has released notification number E/PB/R/Rectt/Act Appr/01/2026-27 dated 5 May 2026 for engagement of 1644 Trade Apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1962. The recruitment covers 1363 posts in DRM Office Raipur Division and 281 posts in Wagon Repair Shop, Raipur across 18 different trades. There is no written exam — selection is based purely on merit from your 10th and ITI marks.

Who Can Apply?

• 10th Class: You must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) under the 10+2 system with at least 50% aggregate marks.
• ITI Certificate: You must have an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institution recognised by NCVT or SCVT.
• Result Awaited: You must have already passed both qualifications by the date of notification — candidates whose results are awaited are not eligible.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 15 years
• Maximum age: 24 years as on 5 May 2026
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years (up to 29). OBC: 3 years (up to 27). PwBD & Ex-Servicemen: 10 years (up to 34).

Stipend

• Selected apprentices will receive monthly stipend as per the rules of the Railway Board.
• Training duration is 1 year for each trade.
• No travelling allowance or daily allowance will be paid to candidates.
• Training will end after completion of the apprenticeship — there is no automatic offer of employment.

Application Fee

• The notification does not specify any application fee.
• You must apply only through the official portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is purely on merit:

1. Merit List: Average of percentage marks in Matriculation (10th) and ITI exam, with equal weightage to both, as per Railway Establishment Rule 201/2017.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must produce all original certificates including caste certificate (if applicable), PwBD certificate (40% disability minimum), and EWS certificate.
3. Medical Examination: Selected candidates must bring a medical certificate signed by a Government authorised doctor (Asst. Surgeon of Central/State Hospital and above) at the time of document verification.
4. Contract: The selected candidate (or guardian, if minor) must enter into a contract of apprenticeship with the employer.

How to Apply

1. Go to the official portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in.
2. Register on the portal using your Aadhaar number.
3. Fill in the online application form with your 10th, ITI and personal details.
4. Upload a recent passport-size colour photograph and signature.
5. Upload your education and technical qualification certificates.
6. Upload caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC) and EWS/PwBD certificate, if applicable.
7. Submit the application before 4 June 2026 at 23:59 hrs.
8. No physical copy of the application needs to be sent to Raipur Division or Wagon Repair Shop.

• Undergo one year of structured apprenticeship training in the assigned trade as per the Apprentices Act, 1961
• Follow workshop safety rules, work timings and discipline at SECR Raipur Division or Wagon Repair Shop
• Learn and practice trade-specific skills under the supervision of qualified Railway technicians
• Maintain training logbook and submit progress reports as required by the Training Officer
• Attend related instructions, theory classes and practical sessions during the training period
• Handle tools, equipment and machinery carefully as per Railway Board guidelines
• Follow the contract of apprenticeship signed with the employer at the time of joining
