SCI, India's largest shipping company and a Navratna PSU, has released Advertisement No. HR 03/2026 for 5 CMA Trainee posts based in Mumbai. SCI is looking for CMA students who have cleared the ICMAI Intermediate exam and registered for the Final course, with at least one year of relevant experience. This is a training programme, not a permanent job — it runs for one year and can be extended twice by six months each, up to a maximum of two years, based on your performance, giving you hands-on experience in accounting, taxation compliance, and bank reconciliation. The Corporation can also depute you to any of its other offices or projects as required.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have registered for and cleared the Intermediate level exam (all groups) of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI), and be registered for the Final course as on 1 July 2026.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience after clearing the CMA Intermediate level.
• Preferred: Accounting experience in an SAP environment.
• Only Indian nationals can apply for this post.

Salary

• You'll get a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs. 27,000 in the first year and Rs. 30,000 in the second year of training.
• No other perks, benefits, transportation, or medical benefits are provided — you're covered only under SCI's Group Insurance Scheme for workplace accidents.
• You'll get 1 day of paid leave per month (excluding normal holidays) and up to 30 days of unpaid leave for your CMA institute exams; taking leave beyond your entitlement extends your training period by the same duration.
• Work timings are flexible — 7 hours 45 minutes a day, Monday to Friday, though you may need to work Saturdays or holidays when required without extra pay.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your educational qualification, age, and experience. If SCI gets a large number of eligible applications, candidates are shortlisted for interview in a 1:20 ratio, based on higher marks in the CMA Intermediate exam.
2. Personal Interview: The date and time will be announced on the SCI website. If candidates tie on interview marks, higher CMA Intermediate marks and then an earlier date of birth will decide the final merit.
3. Document Verification: You'll need to submit original mark sheets, registration proof, and identity documents.

SCI can increase or decrease the number of vacancies, or cancel this advertisement, without prior notice. Meeting the minimum qualification does not by itself entitle you to an interview call.
