The Gujarat Shala Shiksha Parishad, under the Samagra Shiksha scheme of the Education Department, has invited online applications for Gyan Sahayak (Secondary and Higher Secondary) contract posts in government, grant-in-aid, and unaided schools across the state. This first phase of recruitment is open only to candidates who have already cleared the TAT (Teacher Aptitude Test) for Secondary or Higher Secondary. Vacancy numbers and school allotment vary by district, and selected candidates will be posted for an 11-month contract term at the school level. The Gyan Sahayak Yojana was introduced to quickly fill teacher vacancies in Gujarat schools through short-term contract engagements, instead of leaving posts vacant for a full academic year. This recruitment round follows Government Resolution No. ED/MIS/e-file/3/2023/2870/G dated 06 July 2026 issued by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: In this first phase, only candidates who have cleared TAT (Secondary) or TAT (Higher Secondary) can apply for the respective post.
• If seats remain vacant after this phase, candidates who passed TAT in any earlier year will get the next chance, followed by graduate/professional graduate candidates for Secondary and postgraduate/professional postgraduate candidates for Higher Secondary.
• If you have not yet cleared TAT, you cannot apply in this phase — wait for a later phase announcement if seats remain vacant after the TAT-qualified rounds.
• This phased approach gives already-qualified TAT candidates a real teaching opportunity quickly, without waiting for a full-length recruitment cycle.

Age Limit

• For Gyan Sahayak (Secondary), you should be up to 48 years old.
• For Gyan Sahayak (Higher Secondary), you should be up to 50 years old.
• Age is counted as on the last date of the online application.

Salary

• Gyan Sahayak (Secondary): Fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 24,000.
• Gyan Sahayak (Higher Secondary): Fixed monthly honorarium of Rs. 26,000.
• This is a consolidated contract honorarium — the notification does not mention separate DA/HRA.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Online Application: Submit your application through the official portal for your preferred post.
2. Merit List: A merit list based on your TAT score/eligibility will be declared on 18 July 2026.
3. Document Verification and School Selection: Visit your District Education Officer's office with original certificates for verification and to choose your school.

Document verification and school-choice reporting happen in three rounds — 20 July 2026 (1st district preference), 22 July 2026 (2nd preference), and 24 July 2026 (3rd preference).

Because this hiring round uses your existing TAT score instead of a fresh written exam, the entire process — from applying online to reporting at your selected school — is completed within about two weeks.
