Rail Wheel Factory (RWF), a production unit of the Ministry of Railways located on a 191-acre campus in Yelahanka, Bangalore, has released Notification No. RWF/RC-101/996 to recruit 15 sportspersons against Sports Quota (Open Advertisement) for the year 2026-27. The posts are split between Level-2 (Grade Pay 1900) and Level-1 (Grade Pay 1800) of the RS(RP) Rules 2016 pay matrix, covering disciplines such as Badminton, Table Tennis, Cricket, Hockey, Football, and Kabaddi. No age relaxation is permissible for this recruitment, so make sure you meet the age criteria before applying.

Who Can Apply?

For Level-2 (GP 1900) - Technician Gr.III:

• 10th pass + National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) in a Mechanical/Electrical/Civil trade, OR 10th pass + ITI in the relevant trade, OR 10th pass alone (you will need to complete 2 years of training after selection).

For Level-2 (GP 1900) - Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk:

• 12th (+2 stage) pass or its equivalent.

For Level-1 (GP 1800):

• 10th Pass OR ITI OR equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC).

You must also meet the minimum sports achievement norms for your discipline and pay level — such as representing your country, state, or university in a recognized championship. Sports achievements must be from 01 April 2024 onwards. No post is exclusively reserved for any community such as SC/ST/OBC in this recruitment.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 25 years old as on 1 January 2027 (born between 2 January 2002 and 1 January 2009, both days inclusive).
• No age relaxation — upper or lower — is permissible for this recruitment.

Application Fee

• General category candidates: Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 refunded to those who actually appear in the trials).
• SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/Minorities/Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250 (fully refunded to those who actually appear in the trials).
• Payment mode: Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft (DD) only, in favour of the Principal Financial Adviser (PFA), Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bangalore-560064.

Selection Process

RWF will select sportspersons through the following stages:

1. Document Verification and Trials: Only candidates who score 25 or more marks out of 40 for game skill, physical fitness, and coach's observations during trials are declared FIT for the next stage.
2. Assessment of Sports Achievements: Worth 50 marks, based on your recognized sports achievements as per the prescribed norms.
3. Educational Qualification: Worth 10 marks.
4. Medical Examination: You must meet the minimum medical norms for the post you are appointed to.

The total is out of 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 65 for Level-2 (GP 1900) and 60 for Level-1 (GP 1800). Selection is purely merit-based; if two candidates score equally, preference goes to the younger candidate. Trials are tentatively scheduled from 6 to 8 October 2026 at the Rail Wheel Factory Stadium, Yelahanka, Bangalore. Selected candidates must serve a 5-year service bond.

How to Apply

1. Download the application form (Annexure-I) and instructions from rwf.indianrailways.gov.in.
2. Print the form on good quality A4 (210 x 297 mm) white paper, in the same format given with the notification.
3. Fill it in your own handwriting using a blue ballpoint pen, in English or Hindi only.
4. Affix a recent passport-size photo (4 cm x 5 cm), not older than 3 months, without getting it attested by anyone.
5. Attach self-attested photocopies of your certificates and the Examination Fee (IPO/DD).
6. Send your completed application by post to reach the RWF office before the closing date.

Send the printed application with documents by post to General Manager's Office, Personnel Department, Rail Wheel Factory, Yelahanka, Bangalore-560064 by 24 August 2026, 5:00 PM (31 August 2026 for candidates from North-Eastern states, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep).

• Participate in coaching camps and selection trials as directed by the Sports Association
• Maintain sports equipment and follow team discipline guidelines
• Support junior players and promote a sports culture within the organisation
• Complete the required training period for your assigned technical or clerical post
• Clear the typing test within four years if recruited as Junior Clerk/Accounts Clerk
