RRC Eastern Railway is hiring 15 candidates under the Scouts & Guides Quota for Eastern Railway, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), and Metro Railway for the year 2026-27. RRC Eastern Railway Scouts & Guides Quota Recruitment 2026-27 - 15 Posts

The Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC), Eastern Railway, Kolkata has opened online registration for the Scouts & Guides Quota Examination 2026-27, covering Eastern Railway, Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), and Metro Railway. A total of 15 posts are on offer — 5 posts in Level-2 (Group 'C') and 10 posts in Level-1 (erstwhile Group 'D'). Indian Railways reserves a small share of vacancies in every recruitment cycle for outstanding Scouts and Guides as part of a long-standing national policy that rewards service to the Scout movement. This quota exists exclusively for candidates with a strong record in the Scouts & Guides movement. If you don't have Scouts & Guides qualifications, you cannot apply for this quota — there is no general category route through this notification.

Who Can Apply?

You need to meet both your Scouts & Guides record and your basic educational qualification to be considered:

• Scouts & Guides Certificate: You must hold a President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger Certificate OR a Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) in any section.
• Activeness: You should have been an active member of a Scout Organization for the last 5 years, supported by a Certificate of Activeness (Annexure-VIII).
• Event Participation: You must have attended two events at National level OR All India Railways' level, AND two events at State level.
• Educational Qualification: Your qualification (10th / 12th / Degree / Diploma / ITI / Act Apprenticeship) should match the requirement of the post level (Level-1 or Level-2) you apply for, as given in the official notification.

Candidates with no Scouts & Guides qualifications are advised not to apply under this quota, since applications without valid certificates will be rejected at the screening stage.

Application Fee

• UR / OBC / EWS (Male): Rs. 500 + Convenience Fee
• SC / ST / PwD / EBC / Ex-Servicemen / Minorities / Female (all categories): Rs. 250 + Convenience Fee
• Payment mode: Online only, through UPI, Credit Card, Debit Card (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), or Internet Banking. A convenience fee applies on top of the base amount.

Selection Process

There is no separate written exam for the Scouts & Guides Quota. Selection happens in these steps:

1. Document Screening: Your Scouts & Guides certificates and activeness records are checked against the eligibility criteria.
2. Merit Preparation: A merit list is prepared based on your Scouts & Guides achievements and event participation.
3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates go through document verification before final selection.

Keep your original certificates ready, since document verification is a key step for this quota — candidates who cannot produce originals of what they uploaded online risk rejection.

How to Apply

1. Visit rrcer.org and click on Apply Now for the Scouts & Guides Quota.
2. Fill in your basic details — name, parents' name, date of birth, gender, community, religion, Aadhaar number, email, and mobile number.
3. Verify your details on the confirmation screen and submit — you will get a unique Application Number by email. Note this number down, as you will need it for future logins.
4. Fill in your educational details (10th/12th/Degree/Diploma/ITI/Apprenticeship) and upload proof documents.
5. Fill in your Scouts & Guides Certificate details and Certificate of Activeness, along with your National/State-level event details.
6. Upload your photograph, signature, and other required documents in the prescribed size and format — photograph 20-50 KB, signature 10-40 KB, other documents 100 KB to 2 MB.
7. Pay the application fee online and take a printout of your submitted application for your records.
