Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital (RGSSH) is an autonomous institute under the Government of NCT of Delhi at Tahirpur, Delhi. Advertisement No. 05/2026 is for Senior Resident doctors on an initial 44-day adhoc engagement, extendable based on work, conduct, hospital requirement and regular recruitment status. The notice does not fix a single vacancy number; RGSSH says the vacancy status will be updated on its website every third Friday.

The contract can end from either side with 7 days notice or salary for the same period. If work, conduct or discipline is unsatisfactory, RGSSH can end the contract immediately as stated in the notice. Priority is given first to fresh candidates with the required PG qualification, and relaxed lists are used only after the fresh-candidate list is exhausted.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Medical qualification: You need a qualification included in Schedule I, Schedule II or Part II of Schedule III of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, or an MBBS degree from an institute recognised by the Indian Medical Council.
• Postgraduate qualification: You need a DM, M.Ch., MD, MS, DNB or PG Diploma in the relevant broad or super speciality.
• Senior residency condition: You must not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency in a recognised central or state government hospital, autonomous institute, or similar institution, including regular and adhoc periods.

Registration and Relaxed Conditions

• DMC registration: You must have a valid Delhi Medical Council registration certificate, or proof that you have applied for DMC registration with proper acknowledgement at the time of interview.
• Relaxed category: If fresh PG candidates are not available, RGSSH may consider candidates who have completed 3 years as Senior Resident, or Junior Residents with 2 years of experience in the concerned speciality, as per the notice.
• Department allocation: Candidates with MD/MS applying for super speciality departments may give preferences, but the Director can allocate or change departments as per hospital need.
• Emergency duty: Senior Residents may be assigned duties in the Emergency Department whenever RGSSH needs support during exigency and patient load is high.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 37 years.
• Relaxation: SC, ST, OBC, departmental, ex-servicemen, PwD and other categories get age relaxation as per Government of India, DoPT and Government of NCT of Delhi rules.
• Relaxed upper age: In non-availability situations mentioned in the notice, the upper age limit may be relaxed up to 45 years.
• OBC certificate: OBC candidates need a valid non-creamy layer certificate issued by the competent authority as per the notice conditions.

Salary

• Senior Resident pay is under Pay Level 11 of the 7th CPC.
• Pay range is Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
• The old pay band reference is Rs. 15,600-39,100 + Grade Pay Rs. 6,600.
• NPA and other allowances are payable as per applicable government and hospital rules.

Selection Process

RGSSH will select Senior Residents through a walk-in interview. You should carry the filled application form, originals and self-attested photocopies because document checking is part of the interview-day process.

1. Walk-in registration: Report from 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM at First Floor, Conference Hall, Block 7, Administrative Block, RGSSH.
2. Interview: Interview starts from 01:00 PM onwards on the scheduled date.
3. Merit list: RGSSH will prepare selected and wait-listed candidate lists based on the walk-in interview.
4. Document verification: RGSSH will check qualification, DMC registration, age, category and experience documents.
5. Medical fitness: Appointment is subject to physical fitness from the competent medical board before joining.
