All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Gorakhpur has released a walk-in notice for Project Research Scientist-I, Project Research Scientist-II, and Project Technical Support-III posts under extramural projects funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)
- Qualification: You need a first-class Master's degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Demography, Population Studies, or a related field with 3 years of research experience.
- Alternate route: You can also apply with a second-class Master's degree plus Ph.D. in a relevant subject and 3 years of research experience.
- Field work: You must be ready for regular field travel linked to the project.
Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
- Qualification: You need a PG degree in Population Geography, Biostatistics, Demography, Population Studies, Public Health, or another relevant subject, including integrated PG degrees.
- Desirable: Community-based study experience, data analysis skills, PubMed-indexed publications, and ability to guide project work will help your application.
Project Technical Support-III
- Qualification: You need a three-year graduate degree in Public Health, Medical Social Work, Sociology, Computer Application, Biostatistics, or another relevant subject.
- Experience: You also need 3 years of post-qualification experience, or a PG degree in the relevant field.
- Desirable: Field data collection experience in health or population studies is preferred.
Age Limit
- Project Research Scientist-I: Maximum age 40 years.
- Project Research Scientist-II: Maximum age 40 years.
- Project Technical Support-III: Maximum age 35 years.
- Age cut-off: Age will be counted as on the last date of application.
- Relaxation: Age relaxation will apply as per ICMR/Government of India rules, only where applicable.
Salary
- Project Research Scientist-II: Rs. 67,000 plus 20% HRA, total Rs. 80,400 per month.
- Project Research Scientist-I: Rs. 56,000 plus 20% HRA, total Rs. 67,200 per month.
- Project Technical Support-III: Rs. 28,000 plus 20% HRA, total Rs. 33,600 per month.
- Note: Pay may vary if the funding agency changes the approved project rates.
Selection Process
The selection will be handled at AIIMS Gorakhpur in these stages:

Responsibilities
- Handle field work and research activities under the assigned ICMR project
- Prepare study records, data sheets, reports, and project documents
- Work with community participants, schools, or health facilities as required
- Monitor field data quality and support data analysis work
- Assist the principal investigator with project planning and implementation
- Follow AIIMS Gorakhpur, ICMR, and project-specific research guidelines
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
PG degree in Public Health, Biostatistics, Demography, Population Studies, Population Geography or related field; for Project Technical Support-III, three-year graduate degree with experience or PG in relevant field
Preferred Qualification
Community-based study experience, excellent data analysis skills, PubMed/MEDLINE indexed publications, field data collection experience, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary research team
