RCF Vigilance Assistant Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala — one of Indian Railways' major coach manufacturing units in Punjab — needs 1 Vigilance Assistant for its Vigilance Department. RCF has produced over 41,000 coaches since 1988 and employs nearly 5,800 people. This deputation posting is open to eligible staff from all Zonal Railways, Production Units, and Railway organisations across India. The selected candidate will be posted in the same grade as held in the parent cadre, with no additional financial benefit.

Who Can Apply?

This post is open only to serving Indian Railway employees. You must meet one of these conditions:

• Primary eligibility: Working in substantive Pay Level 5 (7th CPC, Grade Pay Rs. 2,800) on a regular basis (not under MACP)
• Alternative: Working in Pay Level 4 (one level below) — you will be considered only if no suitable Level 5 candidate is available. You must have completed 3 years of service at Level 5

Additional conditions:

• You must not be involved in any Vigilance or SPE case
• You should have sufficient knowledge of Railway Service (Conduct) Rules and Railway Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules
• If you have already served in the Vigilance Department, you must have completed a cooling-off period of at least 2 years (as on 24.03.2026) before you can apply again
• No D&AR case or penalty should be pending against you

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level 5 (7th CPC)
• Basic Pay range: Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month
• Grade Pay: Rs. 2,800 (pre-7th CPC equivalent)
• You will be posted in the same grade as your parent cadre — no additional financial benefit is granted for this deputation
• Standard Railway allowances (DA, HRA, Transport Allowance) as applicable at Kapurthala

Selection Process

There is no written exam for this post. Selection is based on:

1. Viva-voce (Interview) — you will be assessed on your knowledge and suitability for vigilance work
2. APAR review — your Annual Performance Appraisal Reports will be checked
3. Credibility assessment — your overall service record and integrity profile will be evaluated

Candidates working one grade below (Level 4) may also be considered on special merit or flair for vigilance work, if no Level 5 candidate is found suitable.

• Assist the Chief Vigilance Officer in conducting vigilance investigations and inquiries within RCF
• Handle confidential correspondence and maintain records related to vigilance cases
• Prepare reports and case files for vigilance proceedings and disciplinary actions
• Monitor compliance with Railway service conduct rules and anti-corruption measures
• Follow up on vigilance cases, preventive checks, and surprise inspections
• Keep track of D&AR (Discipline and Appeal) cases and update case progress registers
• Work with other departments to collect information required for vigilance inquiries
