Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is hiring 12 Young Professionals for different policy, technology, analytics, finance and research work areas in its Central Office Departments at Mumbai. If you have a relevant postgraduate degree, B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, CA, PhD or equivalent professional qualification, you can apply by email. The last date for RBI to receive your application is 06 July 2026. The engagement is contractual, with a fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 1,50,000.
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Young Professional Recruitment 2026 - 12 Posts
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released Advertisement No. RBI/TMD1/YP/06/2026-27/01 dated 15 June 2026 for Young Professional engagement. The notice covers 12 separate work areas, including cyber security, policy analytics, climate risk, payment systems, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, financial markets and data analytics. This is a full-time contract engagement, not a regular RBI appointment, and selected candidates will work in Mumbai on short to medium term policy assignments.

Who Can Apply?
General Eligibility
- Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.
- Qualification source: Your educational qualification must be from a recognised institution in India or abroad.

Technology, Data and Cyber Roles
- Cyber Security and IT Risk: Postgraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI or a related field.
- Policy Analytics: B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science or IT, or Master's degree in Statistics or Data Science.
- Artificial Intelligence: Postgraduate, technical or professional degree in AI, Computer Science, Public Policy, Data Science or a related field.
- Quantum Technology: Postgraduate, technical or professional degree in Quantum Computing, Physics, Electronics, Computer Science or Technology Policy.
- Data Analytics and Policy Research: B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech or postgraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics or Data Analytics.
Finance, Economics and Policy Roles
- Climate Risk and Sustainable Finance: Master's or PG qualification in climate studies, environmental science, finance, economics, statistics, data science, public policy, disaster management or related quantitative fields.
- Credit Risk Analytics: Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, Data Science, Financial Engineering or related quantitative disciplines.
- Payment System Roles: PG degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Commerce, Public Policy or Data Science, or B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech, or CA.
- Policy and Research (DEPR): Master's degree or PhD in Economics with Mathematics, Statistics or Econometrics as one course paper during the Master's programme.
- Data Analysis: Postgraduation in Statistics or Economics with Econometrics as a subject.
- Financial Markets: Postgraduate degree in Economics, Operations Research, Finance, Statistics or Mathematics.
Age Limit
- You must be above 21 years and not more than 30 years old as on 06 July 2026.
- Age proof: RBI will verify age documents during the selection process.
Salary
- Selected Young Professionals will get a fixed monthly stipend of Rs. 1,50,000.
- The stipend is subject to applicable tax deductions.
- No extra allowances: RBI will not provide HRA, residential accommodation or other regular employee benefits.
- YPs can use the emergency dispensary facility for self within the office premises.
Selection Process (No Written Exam)
RBI will select Young Professionals through screening, document verification and interview. Merely meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee an interview call.
- Preliminary Screening / Shortlisting: A screening committee will review applications and shortlist candidates based on the post requirements.
- Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates must show documents for age, qualification, experience and other claims.
- Interview: RBI will issue interview call letters by email. No call letter will be sent by post.
- Reserve List: RBI may keep a reserve list valid for one year from the date of publication of the selection list.

Responsibilities
- Prepare policy notes, research briefs and analytical summaries for RBI departments
- Analyse data, market trends, regulatory issues and emerging technology risks
- Support work on cyber security, AI, payment systems, climate risk, financial markets or data analytics as per the selected post
- Build dashboards, reports and research material for senior officers when required
- Coordinate with internal teams for studies, policy reviews and stakeholder inputs
- Keep project records, data sources and background documents organised
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Relevant PG degree, B.E./B.Tech, M.E./M.Tech, CA, PhD or equivalent professional qualification as per post
Preferred Qualification
Post-specific certifications, research work, analytical skills, policy experience, programming or domain experience as mentioned in the RBI notification
Required Skills
Policy research, data analysis, report writing, dashboards, financial sector understanding, technology or domain skills based on the chosen work area
Age Limit
21 - 30 years (as on 06 Jul 2026)
