Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a notification for engaging one Part-Time Bank's Medical Consultant (MC) on contract basis with fixed hourly payment at its dispensary in Ranchi, Jharkhand. This vacancy is reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates only. The engagement is purely contractual for a period of three years, and doctors with their own practice near the RBI dispensary are ideal candidates for this role.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold an MBBS degree from any university recognised by the Medical Council of India (in the Allopathic system of medicine).
• Preferred Qualification: A Post-Graduate Degree in General Medicine is desirable.
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of post-qualification experience practising Allopathic medicine in any hospital or clinic as a Medical Practitioner.
• Category: This post is reserved for Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. You must possess a valid ST certificate in the prescribed Government of India format.
• Residence Requirement: You must have your dispensary or residence within a radius of 3-5 km from the Bank's dispensary in Ranchi.

Salary

• You will be paid Rs. 1,000 per hour for every hour of duty performed.
• Out of the monthly payment, Rs. 1,000 per month is treated as conveyance expenses.
• You will also get Rs. 1,000 per month as mobile phone reimbursement.
• If you attend the dispensary on a public holiday, you will receive Rs. 1,000 per hour as holiday compensation.
• No pension, provident fund, gratuity, leave, or any other perks will be provided.

Selection Process

The selection will be done through a single stage:

1. Interview: RBI will shortlist candidates based on eligibility and call them for an interview. The Bank reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility criteria to limit the number of candidates called for interview. Your performance in the interview will determine the final selection.

Simply meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call. The Bank's decision on shortlisting is final.

1. Download the application format (Annex-I) from the RBI official website at opportunities.rbi.org.in.
2. Fill in the application form completely as per the prescribed format.
3. Attach self-attested copies of all required documents (educational certificates, experience certificates, ST certificate, identity proof).
4. Put the completed application and documents in a sealed cover.
5. Write "Application for the post of Medical Consultant on contract basis with fixed hourly remuneration" on top of the sealed cover.
6. Send it by post to: Regional Director, Human Resource Management Department, Reserve Bank of India, Ranchi - 834001.
7. The sealed cover must reach the RBI office on or before 17:00 hrs on 27 March 2026.
