These are permanent Class-III positions posted in RBI's zonal offices across East, West, North, South, and Central zones. Who Can Apply?
For Junior Engineer (Civil):
- Three-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution with minimum 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) AND at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in civil construction/maintenance, OR
- Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD) AND at least 1 year of experience, OR a 1-year PSU graduate apprenticeship in place of experience
For Junior Engineer (Electrical):
- Three-year Diploma in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic Engineering from a recognised institution with minimum 65% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwBD) AND at least 2 years of experience in electrical installations in large/commercial buildings, OR
- Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical or Electrical & Electronic Engineering from a recognised university with minimum 55% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD) AND at least 1 year of experience, OR a 1-year PSU graduate apprenticeship
All qualifications are as on 01 April 2026. A candidate must be an Indian citizen (or subject of Nepal/Bhutan with eligibility certificate).
Age Limit
- You must be between 20 and 30 years of age as on 01 April 2026.
- Born not earlier than 02/04/1996 and not later than 01/04/2006.
- SC/ST: Age relaxed by 5 years (up to 35 years)
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): Age relaxed by 3 years (up to 33 years)
- PwBD (GEN/EWS): Age relaxed by 10 years; OBC: 13 years; SC/ST: 15 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Service period in armed forces + 3 additional years, up to 50 years
- Widows/Divorced women (not remarried): Up to 35 years (40 years for SC/ST)
Salary
- Starting basic pay: Rs. 47,700 per month (which is Rs. 29,000 plus 9 advance increments)
- Pay scale: Rs. 29,000 – 1,700 (3) – 34,100 – 2,040 (4) – 42,260 – 2,720 (6) – 58,580 – 2,950 (2) – 64,480 – 3,370 (3) – 74,590 – 4,050 (1) – 78,640
- Approximate initial gross salary: Rs. 91,309 per month (includes 15% HRA if accommodation not provided)
- Plus DA, HRA, and other allowances as per RBI rules
- Additional perquisites: Bank accommodation (subject to availability), knowledge updation allowance, briefcase allowance, furnishing allowance, dispensary facility, Annual Health Check-up, OPD/hospitalization reimbursement, interest-free festival advance, Leave Fare Concession, Housing Loan, personal advance at concessional interest rate
- Retirement: Defined Contribution New Pension Scheme (NPS) plus Gratuity

Selection Process
Selection is done in 3 stages:
- Online Written Examination (300 marks, 150 minutes): Held on 6 June 2026. The exam has 4 sections — English Language (50 Qs, 50 marks, 40 min), Engineering Discipline Paper I (40 Qs, 100 marks, 40 min), Engineering Discipline Paper II (40 Qs, 100 marks, 40 min), General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 Qs, 50 marks, 30 min). Total: 180 questions for 300 marks. All sections except English are bilingual (English and Hindi). Negative marking: 1/4th mark deducted per wrong answer. You must qualify in each section separately. Approximately 5x candidates per vacancy shortlisted.
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT): Mandatory for all shortlisted candidates. Held at respective Zonal Offices. You must be proficient in the Official/Local Language of your applied zone — failing LPT means disqualification.
- Medical Examination & Document Verification: Final selection based on online exam merit, LPT qualification, medical fitness, and certificate verification.

Responsibilities
- Handle supervision and execution of civil construction and maintenance work in RBI office buildings and residential colonies
- Manage electrical and electro-mechanical installations, including HT/LT substations, central AC plants, lifts, UPS, DG sets, CCTV, and fire alarm systems
- Prepare and verify tenders for civil or electrical works as assigned
- Maintain records of building infrastructure systems and keep them in good working condition
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for timely completion of maintenance and repair work
- Inspect work sites to ensure safety standards and quality of construction/installation
- Report progress and issues to senior engineers and management
- Follow RBI's standard procedures, guidelines, and safety protocols at all times
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
