The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released a notification dated 24 June 2026 to engage one Bank's Medical Consultant (BMC) for its dispensary on a contract basis. This is a part-time medical role meant for a qualified doctor who can attend the Bank's dispensary during fixed clinic hours. This is a contractual engagement, not a regular government job — so there is no pension, provident fund, or gratuity. It suits practising doctors who want a steady, respected part-time assignment with India's central bank.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must have an MBBS degree in the allopathic system of medicine, recognised by the Medical Council of India (now NMC).
• Experience: You need at least 2 years of medical practice after your MBBS.
• Preferred: Doctors with a postgraduate degree in General Medicine will be given preference.
• Registration: You must hold a valid registration with the State Medical Council / NMC.

Salary

• You will be paid Rs. 1,000 per hour for the actual duty hours you put in at the dispensary.
• Out of this, Rs. 1,000 per month is treated as conveyance expenses.
• If you are asked to attend on a public holiday, you get extra compensation of Rs. 1,000 per hour.
• As this is a contract post, you will not get pension, provident fund, gratuity, or paid leave.

Selection Process

The selection is done in the following stages:

1. Interview: Shortlisted doctors are called for a personal interview by the Bank.
2. Document Verification: Your MBBS degree, registration, and experience certificates are checked.
3. Medical Test: A basic fitness check before the final engagement.

There is no written exam for this post.
