RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RCIL), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, operates a Pan-India optic fiber network along railway tracks and manages MeitY-empanelled Tier-III Data Centres at Gurgaon and Secunderabad. RCIL has released a notice for 2 experienced professionals to join its Data Centre team purely on a contract basis. These are senior, specialist roles for candidates who already have deep experience managing Government or PSU Data Centres, multi-cloud strategy, and cybersecurity frameworks. No written exam is involved — RailTel will select candidates directly through a walk-in interview followed by a medical check. Who Can Apply?

For Sr. Solution Architect (Rs. 3,65,000/month):

• You need a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MCA, or an Engineering degree in CS/IT/Electronics & Telecom.
• You must have 20+ years of relevant experience with a strong portfolio in Data Centre and IT, including handling a Government or PSU Data Centre.
• At least 5 years of your total experience should be specifically in the role of Solution Architect.
• Key Responsibilities: Engaging with NIC for e-Office resiliency and modernization, tracking compliance under a Maker-Checker framework, designing and rolling out multi-cloud strategy, and giving presales support for solution design and risk mitigation.

For Solution Architect (Rs. 3,05,000/month):

• You need a Master's degree in Computer Science or MCA, IT, or an Engineering degree in CS/IT/Electronics.
• You must have 14+ years of relevant experience with a strong portfolio in Data Centre, IT and SOC handling a Government or PSU Data Centre.
• Key Responsibilities: Architecting CSP-level, scalable and future-ready Data Centres, assessing emerging technologies like AI, ML, cybersecurity and Kubernetes, leading the Bharat DB Project migration roadmap with IIT-Parvartak, and leading consulting engagements with government and enterprise clients.

Both contracts run for 3 years, renewable yearly based on performance and work requirements. In both roles, you'll also be assessing RailTel's existing cloud posture and preparing a Standard Cyber Security Framework covering vulnerability management, application security, and Data Privacy compliance under the DPDP Act.

Age Limit

• You should be between 24 and 50 years old as on 27 August 2026.
• Age Relaxation: OBC candidates get 3 years relaxation. PwBD candidates get 10 years relaxation, subject to a valid certificate.
• Even after all relaxations, your age cannot exceed 55 years.

Salary

• The Sr. Solution Architect post pays a Monthly CTC of Rs. 3,65,000.
• The Solution Architect post pays a Monthly CTC of Rs. 3,05,000.
• Both CTC figures already include the employer's expenditure towards gratuity and medical benefits.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

RailTel will select you through 2 stages:

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 27 August 2026 at 9:00 AM at RailTel's New Delhi office. Bring your original and self-attested documents for verification.
2. Medical Examination: Final empanelment depends on you being found medically fit by a RailTel-designated medical authority.

Your selection stays provisional until RailTel verifies your character, antecedents, and submitted documents. This is a contractual role — you'll need to sign a one-year Service Agreement at the time of engagement, and a notice period of 3 months applies if you resign before completing your term. RailTel has not authorized any agent or agency for this recruitment — beware of touts promising jobs through influence.
