Panjab University Chandigarh (PU) is recruiting Project Assistants for the Lead Knowledge Institution work under the State Support Mission, Chandigarh. The assignment belongs to the Urban Mobility project on grid-based mobility and sustainable mass-transit planning for Chandigarh, with the Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship coordinating the walk-in.

The role is built around evidence for city transport planning. You will support field-based work and turn the material collected by the project team into reports and paper drafts that can be used by the investigators. This is a focused project engagement, not a general university administration post, so your interest in urban issues and comfort with fieldwork will matter in day-to-day work.

The project specifically values knowledge of tourism and geography, because urban movement connects visitor patterns, land use and the way people travel across Chandigarh. If you can collect information carefully, organise observations and explain findings in clear writing, the work offers direct exposure to an applied public-policy study rather than a desk-only assignment.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: The posts are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project; selection does not create a claim to a regular university appointment.
• Project tenure: The stated engagement is for four months or for the period required by the project, whichever condition the project applies.
• Interview expenses: PU will not pay TA or DA for attending the walk-in.
• Form accuracy: Check every entry before handing over the form, because requests to change information after submission will not be considered.
• Conduct: Canvassing or using outside influence will disqualify an applicant.
