Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), on behalf of all Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam (GUVNL) subsidiary DISCOMs — PGVCL, UGVCL, MGVCL and DGVCL — has invited applications for 236 Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Assistant) posts reserved exclusively for Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD). Only PwBD candidates with a minimum 40% disability in categories like Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, Locomotor Disability and Specific Learning Disability are eligible to apply. Selected candidates will be appointed for an initial 3-year contract period and may be considered for a regular Junior Assistant post (Pay Scale Rs. 25,000-55,800) after satisfactory completion of that tenure.

Vacancy Breakdown by Company and Disability Category

Locomotor Disability includes One Arm (OA), One Leg (OL), Dwarfism (D), Leprosy Cured (LC), Acid Attack Victim (AAV), Spinal Injury (SI) and Spinal Deformity (SD). SLD stands for Specific Learning Disability.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.A., B.Com, B.Sc., B.C.A. or B.B.A. (Regular, External or Open/Distance Learning mode) from a UGC/AICTE recognized university.
• Marks: You need at least 55% average marks in your final year or last two semesters of graduation.
• Distance Learning: If your degree is through ODL/online mode, your university must be NAAC accredited (minimum 3.01 on a 4-point scale) or NBA accredited (minimum 650 out of 1000).
• Disability: Only candidates with Benchmark Disability of at least 40% in Low Vision, Hard of Hearing, Locomotor Disability (OA/OL/D/LC/AAV/SI/SD) or Specific Learning Disability (SLD) can apply.
• Skills: You should know basic computer operations and have a good command over English and Gujarati.
• Domicile: At least 85% of selected posts are reserved for local residents of Gujarat State; you will need a valid domicile certificate if applying under this quota.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 45 years as on the date of publication of the advertisement, i.e. 7 July 2026, after all relaxations.
• Departmental Candidates: The maximum age limit does not apply to existing departmental candidates of GUVNL and its subsidiary companies.

Salary

• You will get a fixed remuneration during the 3-year contract period: Rs. 22,750/month in Year 1, Rs. 24,700/month in Year 2, and Rs. 26,650/month in Year 3.
• No other allowance is payable except TA/DA as per company rules.
• After completing 3 years satisfactorily, you may be appointed as a regular Junior Assistant on the Pay Scale of Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 55,800.

• All Categories: Rs. 250 (inclusive of GST)
• Payment mode: Online only — Credit Card, Debit Card or Net Banking. Demand Draft, Money Order, Postal Order and Cheque are not accepted.
• The fee is non-refundable and will not be adjusted in any future recruitment process.

Selection Process

PGVCL will select candidates in 2 stages:

1. First Tier Examination: 100 questions for 100 marks covering Reasoning (15), Quantitative Aptitude (15), English (20), Gujarati (20), General Knowledge (10) and Computer Knowledge (20). You need at least 45 marks to qualify for the Second Tier.
2. Second Tier Examination: 100 questions for 100 marks covering English (20), Gujarati (20), Polity/Public Administration/RTI (20), History/Geography/Culture Heritage (15), Economics/Environment/Science & Technology (15) and Current Affairs (10). Your final merit is based on this exam, with a minimum cutoff of 45 marks.
3. Document Verification and Pre-Employment Medical Examination

There is negative marking of 1/4 mark for every wrong answer in both tiers. Question papers are set in English and Gujarati. Widow female candidates get 5% grace marks added to their Second Tier score.

6. Submit the form and take a printout for your records.
