PDKV Research Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth (Dr. PDKV), Akola is holding a walk-in interview for a Research Associate in the Department of Plant Pathology at its Post Graduate Institute. The post is funded by the Horticulture Pest Surveillance and Advisory Project (HORTSAP) 2026-27, a pest surveillance scheme of the Government of Maharashtra.

This is a purely contractual project post, not a regular university job. Ph.D. holders are paid more than M.Sc. holders, and the advertised pay runs only up to 31 March 2027. If you studied Plant Pathology or Agricultural Entomology at postgraduate level and are comfortable working on a computer, this is a good way to gain project research experience in a university department.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The post is temporary and ends with the HORTSAP project; you continue only while your performance stays satisfactory.
• No permanent claim: Selection gives you no right to a regular post or absorption in the university.
• Full-time work: You are treated as a full-time worker with no regular leave, and your attendance is marked in a register. You must follow the university's administrative, financial and disciplinary rules.
• Joining: You must join the office in person within seven days of the order, or the order is cancelled.
• Leaving early: You must give one month's notice; otherwise one month's salary is held back or the shortfall is recovered.
• Discontinuation: The university can end your engagement at any time without notice for unsatisfactory work or another valid reason.
• Bond: After appointment you sign a statement accepting the terms on Rs. 100 bond paper.
• No extras: No accommodation is provided, and no TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Final say: The Principal Investigator of HORTSAP has the final decision, and the PI and Head can cancel or postpone the interview. Canvassing in any form leads to disqualification.

There is no online form. The application proforma is on the university website, www.pdkv.ac.in — fill it in and bring it to the walk-in in the chamber of the Head, Department of Plant Pathology, PGI, Dr. PDKV, Akola.

• Reporting time: 11:00 AM sharp; no candidate is allowed in after 12:00 noon.
• Papers to carry: your original certificates plus one set of attested photocopies.
• Call letters: none will be sent, so simply turn up on the interview day.
• Large turnout: if many candidates come, interviews may continue the next day.
