Ordnance Factory Nalanda (OFN) is a defence manufacturing unit of Munitions India Limited (MIL), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Defence, based at Rajgir in Bihar. Through Advertisement No. MIL/OFN/GA/SUP/2026/I, OFN has invited offline applications for 12 Project Engineer (Chemical) posts at the supervisory level. This is a fixed-tenure job — you are first engaged for one year, which can be renewed year by year up to a total of four years based on your performance and the factory's needs. It is a strong opening for chemical engineering diploma and degree holders who have completed apprenticeship in an ordnance factory and want hands-on work in defence manufacturing.

Who Can Apply?

You must have completed apprenticeship training in an Ordnance Factory and hold one of the qualifications below. The merit list is prepared in this exact order of preference:

1. B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with apprenticeship in the manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives (highest preference)
2. Diploma in Chemical Engineering with apprenticeship in the manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives
3. B.Sc graduate with Chemistry as one of the main subjects, with apprenticeship in the manufacturing/handling of ammunition and explosives
4. B.E./B.Tech in Chemical Engineering with apprenticeship in a chemical field other than ammunition and explosives
5. Diploma in Chemical Engineering with apprenticeship in a chemical field other than ammunition and explosives (lowest preference)

If your degree gives a CGPA instead of a percentage, you must attach the official CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula with your application.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 30 years for General category candidates.
• Your age is counted as on the last date of receiving applications (28 July 2026).
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for SC/ST).
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years relaxation (only for posts reserved for OBC).
• Ex-apprentices of Ordnance Factories get age relaxation equal to the length of their apprenticeship training.

Salary

• 1st year: Rs. 36,000 per month (basic pay)
• 2nd year: Rs. 37,080 per month
• 3rd year: Rs. 38,192 per month
• 4th year: Rs. 39,338 per month
• You also get IDA (Industrial Dearness Allowance) and HRA as per rules. Pay is worked out at 1/30th of (basic + DA) for each day of 8-hour work.

You are covered under EPF and get 30 days of leave per year. Note that this tenure post does not include promotions, overtime allowance, medical facilities (except emergencies), or LTC/LTA.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on your marks and an interview:

1. Academic Marks (85% weightage): Your marks in the qualifying Graduation/Diploma examination.
2. Personal Interaction / Interview (15% weightage): A cut-off percentage in the qualifying exam decides who is called for the interview.
3. Document Verification: Candidates are called in merit order (limited to the number of posts, discipline and category wise) to verify original documents.
4. Medical Examination: You may be asked to stay one extra day for a medical check-up.

The final merit list is made from your combined Graduation/Diploma and interview marks. If there is a tie, the candidate with higher marks in the degree/diploma wins; then higher interview marks; then the older candidate.
