National Water Development Agency (NWDA), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, issued vacancy circular F.No. 18033/1/2022-Admn. dated 3 June 2026. The posts are for officers from Central Government, State Government, PSUs, semi-government bodies, statutory bodies, autonomous organisations, engineering universities and research organisations. Who Can Apply?

Deputy Director / Executive Engineer

• Service condition: You should hold an analogous post on regular basis, or have 5 years regular service in Level 10 (Rs. 56,100-1,77,500) or equivalent.
• Qualification: You need a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institute.
• Experience: You need at least 5 years experience in applied research in irrigation and water utilisation, or in surveys, investigations, designs, construction, operation and maintenance of irrigation projects or works.

Superintending Engineer

• Service condition: You should hold an analogous post on regular basis, or have 5 years regular service in Level 11 (Rs. 67,700-2,08,700) or equivalent.
• Qualification: You need a Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institute or university.
• Experience: You need at least 5 years experience in applied research in irrigation and water utilisation, or in surveys, investigations, designs, construction, operation and maintenance of irrigation projects or works.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years.
• Age is counted as on the closing date for receipt of applications.
• The period of deputation including short-term contract will ordinarily not exceed 3 years.

Salary

• Deputy Director / Executive Engineer: Level 11 in the Pay Matrix, Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700 per month.
• Superintending Engineer: Level 12 in the Pay Matrix, Rs. 78,800 to Rs. 2,09,200 per month.
• Pay of selected officers will be regulated as per DoPT deputation pay rules and later amendments.
• General Pool Accommodation is not available for selected officers under this circular.

Selection Process (Deputation)

The circular does not mention a written exam. Selection will be based on deputation suitability, service record, eligibility and employer clearances.
