Nuapada SSD Guest Teacher PGT Recruitment 2026: Overview

The Office of the Collector and District Magistrate, Nuapada, through its ST and SC Development (SSD) Section, is hiring Guest Teachers for Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) posts in Mathematics, Odia and English. All three posts are at Govt. SSD Higher Secondary School, Dharambandha, a school run by the ST and SC Development Department in Nuapada district of Odisha. The school wants to keep Class XI and XII teaching running without a break while the regular posts stay vacant, so this is a stop-gap, period-based engagement, not a regular government appointment.

Retired teachers get first preference. Only if enough retired teachers do not come forward will the District Welfare Officer (DWO) consider other candidates who hold a Master's degree in the subject. If you have a B.Ed as well, your chances improve, because the B.Ed score carries a big share of the merit marks.

Posts and Disciplines

  • PGT (Mathematics): teaches Mathematics to the Class XI and XII students of the Dharambandha higher secondary school.
  • PGT (Odia): handles Odia language and literature for the higher secondary classes at the same school.
  • PGT (English): teaches English to the Class XI and XII batches at the same school.

You apply for one subject on the bio-data form, so mention the subject clearly in the post applied for.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • No claim to a regular job: Guest teachers have no right to regular or contractual appointment at any time and do not become part of the SSD teacher cadre.
  • Tenure: The engagement lasts until a regular teacher joins or until the end of the academic year, whichever comes first. It also ends as soon as a regular or contractual teacher is posted, or whenever the authority decides.
  • Pay per class: You are paid for each class you actually take, with a cap of 40 classes a month of at least 45 minutes each. The Headmaster or Principal sends your claim sheet to the DWO for payment.
  • Teaching only: You will not be given hostel duty, office work or the Principal's administrative work.
  • Monthly review: The Headmaster or Principal reviews your performance every month. Unsatisfactory work means you can be dropped immediately.
  • Absence rule: Staying away without permission for seven days in a row ends your engagement automatically.
  • Conduct: Any misconduct or disturbance in the school leads to immediate removal.
  • No accommodation: You cannot stay on the school or hostel premises after working hours, and no housing is given.
  • Working hours: Class timings follow the school timetable.
  • Tie-break: If two candidates end up with the same merit marks, the older candidate gets preference. Selected names go on a panel that the Collector approves before the DWO issues offer letters.
