National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Limited, one of India's largest energy companies with an installed capacity of over 73,000 MW, has announced recruitment for 27 trainee posts at its Kudgi Super Thermal Power Station in Vijayapura district, Karnataka. This recruitment is conducted under Advertisement Number Kudgi/01/2026 and is exclusively reserved for land oustees affected by the Kudgi STPP project. The drive covers three trade categories -- Fitter, Instrument Mechanic, and Material/Storekeeper -- offering a solid career path in India's premier Maharatna PSU for eligible land loser family members.

Who Can Apply?

Land Oustee Requirement (Mandatory):

• Only land oustees of NTPC Kudgi and their family members (self, spouse, son, or unmarried daughter) can apply.
• You must submit a Land Oustee Certificate issued by M/s KIADB, Dharwad.
• Suitable certificates like Class 10th certificate, Birth certificate, or Marriage Certificate (for spouse) will be needed to prove your family relationship.

For Artisan Trainee (Fitter):

• 10th pass (Matriculation) from a recognized board
• Full-time regular ITI in Fitter trade approved by NCVT/SCVT/NCTVT

For Artisan Trainee (Instrument Mechanic):

• 10th pass (Matriculation) from a recognized board
• Full-time regular ITI in Instrument Mechanic or Electronics trade approved by NCVT/SCVT/NCTVT

For Assistant Trainee (Material/Storekeeper):

• Option A: Full-time regular course in NCTVT (Storekeeping)
• Option B: 10th pass + ITI (Fitter/Electrician/Electronics/Instrument Mechanic) + English Typing at 30 WPM / 150 keystrokes per minute

All qualifications must be from Academic/Technical Institutes recognized and approved by appropriate statutory authority.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 40 years for General/UR category as on the last date of application (11 April 2026).
• Age Relaxation: SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), PwBD (40% or above disability), and Ex-Servicemen get age relaxation as per Government of India guidelines.

Salary & Stipend

• During Training (2 years): Consolidated stipend of Rs. 21,500 per month
• After Training: Placement in regular establishment at W3 grade with starting basic pay of Rs. 21,500 plus DA, HRA, and other allowances as per NTPC rules
• Service Bond: Rs. 50,000 for General/EWS/OBC and Rs. 25,000 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates for serving a minimum of 3 years after completing training

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 3 stages:

1. Written Examination: A 2-hour objective type multiple-choice test covering subject knowledge relevant to your trade and an aptitude section. Based on your performance, a merit list will be prepared.
2. Skill Test: Candidates shortlisted from the written exam will appear for a practical skill test in their respective trade.
3. Medical Examination: You must be medically fit as per NTPC norms. The NTPC Medical Board's decision will be final and binding.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the written test. Candidates serving in Government/PSU must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of skill test.

• Operate and maintain assigned machinery and equipment at the thermal power station
• Perform fitting, assembly, and repair work on mechanical components and systems
• Assist in instrument calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of electronic/mechanical instruments
• Handle material receipt, storage, inventory management, and dispatch in the stores section
• Follow safety protocols, wear protective gear, and report any hazards at the workplace
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, material stock, and shift logs
• Work in shifts including night duty and weekends as required by plant operations
• Assist senior technicians and engineers during routine and breakdown maintenance
