NRS Project Staff Recruitment 2026: Overview
Nilratan Sircar Medical College (NRS) is recruiting project staff for its Department of Haematology in Kolkata. The work belongs to a Lady Tata Memorial Trust (LTMT) sponsored study led by Prof. (Dr.) Rajib De on relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children and young adults. The study examines clinical outcomes alongside mutational status, bringing patient-facing work and laboratory research into the same project.

Post-wise Duties
Project Research Scientist I
You will work with patients, doctors and technical staff while handling blood and bone-marrow samples. The role covers flow cytometry, fluorescence in-situ hybridization (FISH), quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR), sequencing-data interpretation and statistical analysis. Preparing reports on time is part of the research assignment.
Project Technical Support II
You will support scientists and doctors through laboratory bench work and interaction with patients. Tasks include blood aspiration, bone-marrow handling, DNA and RNA isolation, reagent preparation and flow cytometry. You will also help with data entry and analysis alongside the experimental work.
Service Conditions and Caveats
- Project-linked engagement: Both roles are contractual and end with the project. Keep this condition in mind when considering the assignment.

The notice provides separate Google Forms for the two roles. Use the Project Research Scientist I form for the scientist post and the Project Technical Support II form for technical support. The forms belong to the same project recruitment, but each is labelled for its own role.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient interactions with doctors and the project team
- Handle blood and bone-marrow samples for project experiments
- Perform flow cytometry, FISH and qPCR work for the scientist role
- Interpret sequencing data and prepare statistical reports for the scientist role
- Support DNA and RNA isolation and reagent preparation in the technical role
- Assist with project data entry and analysis in the technical role
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Scientist: Ph.D. or relevant M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Pharm. with 3 years of research, teaching, design and development experience and at least one SCI journal paper. Technical Support: 10+2 Science with BMLT and 1 year of relevant experience, or DMLT and 3 years of relevant experience, plus a recognized 1-year computer course.
Preferred Qualification
Scientist: molecular biology, flow cytometry, FISH, sequencing techniques, data interpretation and patient-sample handling. Technical Support: molecular biology, FISH, qPCR and phlebotomy.
