National Law University and Judicial Academy (NLUJA), Assam has released an advertisement (No. NLUJAA/ADMIN/F/COMMNC/2023/34/398) for 3 contractual posts — 1 ANM/GNM Nurse and 2 Hostel Wardens, one for the Boys' Hostel and one for the Girls' Hostel. These are purely contractual engagements for an initial period of one year, which the University may extend based on your performance and its requirements. Who Can Apply?

For ANM/GNM Nurse:

  • Qualification: GNM or B.Sc Nursing from a recognized institution, registered with the Assam Nurses', Midwives' and Health Visitors' Council. Candidates with an ANM qualification and the same registration can also apply.
  • Experience: You need at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a government or private hospital, educational institution, university health centre, clinic, or similar recognized healthcare facility.
  • Desirable: Experience handling student healthcare, medical emergencies, first aid, and minor ailments independently; experience in health awareness programmes, vaccination drives, and preventive healthcare; and basic computer knowledge for maintaining patient records.
  • Note: The selected Nurse must stay on campus when required for medical emergencies; the University will arrange accommodation in the Girls' Hostel for such periods.

For Hostel Warden (Boys' and Girls' Hostels):

  • Qualification: You must be at least a graduate in any discipline.
  • Experience: You need 3 to 5 years of experience in hostel administration at universities or educational institutions.
  • Skills: Functional knowledge of English, Hindi, and Assamese, along with good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Desirable: Good administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills; the ability to manage student welfare and hostel discipline; and basic knowledge of computer applications.

Age Limit

  • ANM/GNM Nurse: You should be between 25 and 55 years old.
  • Hostel Warden: You should be between 30 and 55 years old.

Salary

  • The salary is a consolidated remuneration that will be decided based on your experience and qualification, as per University norms.
  • No fixed pay scale has been announced for these contractual posts.

Selection Process

NLUJA will shortlist candidates based on their application and call only shortlisted candidates for the next stage:

  1. Document Verification: Check of your educational certificates, experience certificates, and registration certificate (for Nurse posts).
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written test and/or interview.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first aid and primary healthcare to students, faculty, and staff (Nurse)
  • Attend to medical emergencies and coordinate hospital referrals when needed
  • Supervise day-to-day administration of the boys' or girls' hostel
  • Maintain hostel records, occupancy registers, and inventories
  • Ensure discipline, safety, cleanliness, and upkeep of hostel premises
  • Coordinate with students, parents, and University authorities on hostel matters
  • Organize health camps, immunization drives, and health awareness programmes
  • Assist in implementing hostel rules and University health protocols

Minimum Qualification

GNM/B.Sc Nursing or ANM (Nurse) / Graduate with hostel administration experience (Warden)

Preferred Qualification
