National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) has released a project advertisement dated 23 June 2026 for one JRF post under the Department of Biotechnology. Engineering and Technology Route

• Route 1: B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biosciences and Bioengineering, or related fields, plus M.E./M.Tech./M.S. by Research or eligible two-year M.S. from abroad in related fields.
• Marks for Route 1: GEN, GEN-EWS, and OBC-NCL need at least 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CGPA at both UG and PG. SC, ST, and PwD need at least 55% aggregate marks or 6.0 CGPA.
• Route 2: B.E./B.Tech. in the listed biotechnology or related fields with a valid GATE score.
• Marks for Route 2: GEN, GEN-EWS, and OBC-NCL need at least 7.0 CGPA out of 10 or 65% marks. SC, ST, and PwD need at least 6.5 CGPA out of 10 or 60% marks.

Science and Life Sciences Route

• Route 3: M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or related fields, plus M.Tech. in Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Biosciences and Bioengineering, or related fields.
• Route 4: M.Sc. in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Botany, Zoology, Bioinformatics, Life Sciences, or related fields.
• Preferred qualification: GATE or CSIR-UGC NET qualification will get preference.
• Desirable skills: Prior work with cyanobacteria, enzymes, and basic bioinformatics tools or databases will help.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 30 years.
• Age relaxation: Upper age is relaxable up to 5 years for SC, ST, OBC, Women, and Physically Challenged applicants.

Salary

• JRF fellowship: Rs. 37,000 per month for two years.
• HRA: Payable as per NIT Warangal institute rules.
• Accommodation: On-campus hostel and mess facilities may be available, subject to availability.
• The post is purely temporary and connected to the project duration.
