National Institute of Technology Raipur Registrar Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

National Institute of Technology Raipur (NIT Raipur), an Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, has released advertisement No. NITRR/R-1/Advt./2026/915 dated 15 June 2026. The notice covers 1 Registrar post under deputation/ISTC including short-term contract. This is a senior non-faculty leadership role for officers from government, universities, research institutes, institutes of national importance, government laboratories, or PSUs.

The appointment period is 5 years or until the officer reaches 62 years, whichever is earlier, unless Government of India orders say otherwise. The post is not meant for fresh graduates; it needs strong experience in educational administration, higher education, research establishment work, or senior registrar-level administration.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent Grade B in the UGC 7-point scale from a recognised university or institute.
• Service background: You should be an officer under Central/State Government, a university, recognised research institute, institute of national importance, government laboratory, or PSU.

Experience Routes

• Analogous post: You can apply if you hold an analogous post.
• Academic route: You can apply with at least 15 years as Assistant Professor in AGP Rs. 7000 and above, or 8 years in AGP Rs. 8000 and above including Associate Professor service, plus 3 years in educational administration.
• Research route: Comparable experience in a research establishment or another higher-education institution is accepted.
• Administration route: You can apply with 15 years of administrative experience, including 8 years as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post in GP Rs. 7600 or above.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 56 years.
• Age will be counted as on the last date of application, 15 July 2026.
• No relaxation in age, qualification, or other criteria applies for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, or other reserved categories because this is a deputation/ISTC post.

Salary

• Pay scale: Pay Level-14 under the 7th CPC.
• Indicative Level-14 range: Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month.
• The notice says NIT Raipur may correct any pay or pay-level discrepancy if found later.
• Allowances will be as per applicable Government of India and institute rules for the deputation/ISTC appointment.

Selection Process

Selection will be based on performance in the interview from among shortlisted candidates. NIT Raipur may also conduct a screening test before interview if needed.

3. Screening Test if Required: The institute reserves the right to conduct a screening test before interview.

6. Medical Fitness: Appointment is subject to being found medically fit by the institute medical process.

7. Make sure the hard copy reaches by 15 July 2026, 5:00 PM.

Advance copy can be sent directly, but the proper-channel documents are still needed. You must produce original NOC, vigilance certificate, degrees and other documents at verification or whenever the institute asks.
